Grilled Chuck Steak with pan gravy, fingerling potatoes and carrots, drizzled with olive oil, in the air fryer, steamed Swiss Chard. George Dickel Number 12 on ice. George Dickel # 12 on ice !!! I drank George Dickel Black label with s fair amount of gusto, never had the 12, or the Rye. If you and good ole # 12 had'a been here yesterday, we could'a tossed down some 12 ,behind a slice of Birthday Cake. Wrong place, wrong time I guess

Made up a "Tamale Pie". A kind of Torta in a pan. Layer of Cheese Grits, layer of my home made Red Chile with beans and pork, layer of cheese, layer of Cheese Grits, layer of the Chile again, topped with sliced cheese. Into the oven. Garnish with sour cream, lettuce, other vegies or such if on hand.

For early evening and now a late night meal, it's been lentils cooked in the crockpot in chicken broth and 3 whole Black Krim tomatoes out of the freezer from last year's season. The beefsteak tomatoes entirely disintegrate but leave some skins and a great, rich tomato flavor added to the lentils. We really like 'em this way. Wife made home made Mexican-style Au Gratin potatoes earlier for lunch from thinly sliced Russett potatoes and a seasoned cream sauce which was basically my lunch for "garden strength" for the afternoon.

An early morning breakfast of left over chuck steak, one egg, cheese grits. I cannot claim to be a fan of the Chuck Steak. Better ground into burger, I am thinking.
Raining hard, cold, dark morning. Flooding likely. Hope it is confined to the flood plain. I will find out, eventually. There is no flood control district here, nor does the County assume responsibility for dealing with these hazards. Response is limited to those of us who can do something and have the equipment. The beaver dams up stream send water in all directions EXCEPT down the creek's course. Comical.

after nap, from store, a "brisket" burger on new small Geoforeman grill. Looks same as an Angus, no idea difference from prime ground. Butter on roll, slice Am cheese on top. 1-cup Musselmans smooth applesauce for side. Jeopardy after 6pm news, store brand tea & cookies for company
