Is it just me, or does that tobacco take a really long time to dry? Most tobaccos that require drying are good after 20 minutes, and the 515 RC-1 seems dry after 20 minutes (no longer sticky) but it still takes a lot of relights. I've found that it takes an additional 20 minutes to really be smokable. Why do you think this is? Or am I way out in left field?

It's been a year or so since I've smoked it plain. I don't remember it being hard to keep lit. But sometimes I have trouble remembering if I ate lunch or not. So, there's that. Also, I remember them having different moisture levels when I was buying 1 lbs bags, but none of them were "sticky."
It's a great tobacco on its own, and the base for a few of my home blends.

Like many other tobaccos 515 is heavily cased with propylene glycol a humectant that attracts moisture from the air. I find mixtures like this smolder at best.

I hardly smoke Va's anymore but, when I do, prefer them almost crunchy dry. Ten to fifteen seconds in the microwave on a paper towel followed by a short rest does the trick nicely.
