I had to cut some Black Irish XX after that talk. Except Brown. And Bogie, in a in a Grabow Lovat (?). I can't do the black ropes. It's like smoking salmon skin to me. I usually like weird tobacco, though.

I usually like weird tobacco, though. I tried it years ago and didn't like it at all. But taste had changed so I added a couple of ounces with my GH order. I wish I would have ordered more. It's still not something I'd grab all of the time, but it's definitely a change up. I like the brown ropes better. More tobacco flavor, less burn meat/rubber/sugar. Just finished the Virginia Slices. Instead of watching Ozarks, I'm buffing pipes. (Here we go again 🤣)

I snagged a pound of it and still uave a bit left. That didn't stop me from ordering more this go round. This most recent rope is thinner than the one from before. Delicious stuff!! One day I'll get the whole turd pile.

I wish they still coiled it on a spindle and put the nail in the tail. They do, but you have to buy the whole spindle to get the nail. The last 2 500 gram ropes I purchased was loose. Maybe the nail shook loose and that was what happened, but it was still taped with the factory tape (and no floating nails). Not a deal breaker but it lacked the presentation I have come to expect. Best way to capture the snake.

No one had posted a pic of the 500g box I need to buy more whole leaf and make a big rope Unless I'm mistaken, this restock only listed an option of 16 oz. as the largest size for Brown Bogie and I received it in a SmokingPipes ziplock bag. My 500g flakes still came in boxes, and my Broken Scotch Cake came in a 500g factory Gawith Hoggarth bag.

Yeah Ron, it is sad to see some great contributors have gone, but you never know… health issues cause them to leave the hobby? Mortality greets them? Or just the priorities of life take a turn?
It would be great to see half of them check in, but it is what it is.
