Bought two more tins of Dunbar today at my local B&M and also a tin of Sam’s Flake from Gawith. Dunbar is a great blend. They had no Penzance. I bought their last tin of Margate a few weeks ago.

I need to make a trip to my b&m to get another tin of the Visions of Celephais that I talked him into ordering last year. The proprietor made it very clear that *nobody* else was interested in that stuff, and having to order half a dozen tins was taking up valuable shelf space

I call it Visions of Syphilis. I won't smoke it again. I was gifted a tin of it from a secret Santa. I’m kinda afraid to open it. I’ve heard it out grapes captain black grape. And im not a huge fan of grape. I have a tin that I opened and I am not a fan of it. I jarred it up and am going to let it sit for a while before I try it again. If it doesn't mellow out I may just gift it on. |

And im not a huge fan of grape. I don't smoke a lot of aromatics, but it strikes me as very aromatic. The tin note reminds me of vanilla yogurt covered raisins. I've never thought 'grape' when I opened or smoked it. Oddly, even though I really prefer Balkan blends, I really like this stuff. If you decide to get rid of it, PM me and let's work out a purchase price or amenable trade. |

As I've stated here on the patch, in previous posts, I have been able to acquire each and every blend of Esoterica's offerings. Although I haven't tried em all yet, they're still there for when I get ready. My effort was simply spending a little bit of time looking up the different pipe shops across the country, many of which that do not have an internet presence. While spending time in the lounge at the airport, waiting for a connecting flight, I would call a few of them and inquire about whether or not they had any Esoterica, and which blends. By doing this I was able to acquire what I wanted at retail prices, not the crazy ebay prices or the gouging of others on various pipe forums. I've also posted, here on the patch, when I've wondered into a pipe shop here and there that had Esoterica in stock. So, if a person is so inclined, with a little bit of effort, these blends can be bought. just my $0.02 |

I haven't seen any comments on Esoterica lately. Has it left the market or has everyone just moved on out of frustration? My local shop, says they can only get Esoterica in nice per year the past couple of years and the last time, we’re only able to get one bag of Penzance. I smoke my Penzance a few times a year, so the two bags I have should last me forever, I guess. Lately, I have been smoking a lot less English, Balkan and Oriental blends. Virginia, VaPer and Burley flakes are my preference after all these years. |
