My mother and grandmother always had these. They are my favorite flower. Louisiana iris. I seem to have Louisiana in my blood.

My neice is dying in Metairie and we need to get down there soon. All the nephews are coming. We meet more often at funerals then anywhere else. Probably take a side trip to Avery Island like we did when her mother died. It's so pretty there. PS Thanks for the lilly.

Some beautiful colors!
Years ago when I took my daughter to college in South Carolina, we travelled up to Asheville and the Arboretum at the Biltmore estate had some truly beautifully delicate flowers grown by talented people that knew their stuff, but they got nothing on your missus!

My wife's grandmother had the green thumb and produced some great flowers in the bay area. One weekend we went out to a remote ranch one of my work buddy's family owned. There was a downed old tree at least 20 feet long covered with so many ladybugs that you could hardly see the wood...a massive moving skin of ladybugs. I told grandma about it..."You crazy fool, you should have jarred as many as you could, I have aphids and they would rid me of them." Heck, I didn't know that, and I didn't know she had aphids.
