The smoky, woody, earthy, sweet, moderately musty Cyprian Latakia is the lead component. The zesty smoky, woody, earthy, floral, buttery sweet and lightly sour, spicy Orientals play a strong support role, and here and there almost equal the effect of the latakia. The Orientals are a tad more noticeable, and the latakia a rung less so in this manufacture than they are in the regular Bengal Slices. The bright and red Virginias sport a bit of fermented, barbecue-like, tangy dark fruit and earth, a little slightly tart, sweet citrus and grass as they form the base for the other components. They definitely have their say in every puff as the third star in the firmament. There is no topping so you get a true tobacco taste. The strength is medium and taste level steps over that line. The nic-hit is just past the center of mild to medium. Won’t bite or get harsh, but has a little of a rough edge here and there as one would expect from blends in this genre. The slices are thick, and easily broken apart to prepare to your preference. Burns cool, clean, and a little slow with a mostly consistent, fairly rich sweet and savory flavor from beginning to end. Leaves little moisture in the bowl. Requires some relights. Has a very pleasant, lingering campfire after taste and stronger room note. A lightly milder version of Bengal Slices, this production packs enough punch and depth to stand on its own while being an all day experience for many smokers.

Nice review, Jim. Thanks. I’ve yet to give this one a try. I think you’ve talked me into it. Bengal Slices White is a little different from regular Bengal Slices. I recommend both, of course.

Hey, all. P&C has it in stock already, and with code "white", it drops the price from $14+ to $11.99 per tin. We all know there's P&C haters, I'm just offering information.

I know, I was just trying to put a kibosh on the negative comments before they started. I think by now we know that there are those that aren't down with P&C. Nothing against anyone who has that preference, but that dead horse has been beat enough.

That's a thread upon its own, and if you search the forum, you'll find it. Honestly, I don't want to see this one derailed by such an incendiary subject. Pipe tobacco is incendiary enough!

I got more of a brick than a slice but it makes no difference. This is some good stuff. Glad I picked up two tins and plan to put away some more.
