I'm doing my part! A box of tobacco I don't need arrived yesterday and enjoying a new estate pipe I can't afford. I've started on another day of doing nothing but sitting around noodling on my phone with the TV on the background puffing a pipe.  |

SF shut down last fall. Speaking of pipe board homes, before it crashed the first time SF was always my first and last look of the day. |

I, for one, oppose this attempt by our one-world government overlords to dictate a single day a year on which anyone can and everyone must smoke a pipe. In protest, I shall smoke one or more pipes, but only while humming "God Bless America" in a decidedly defiant tone, and wearing my "These Colors Don't Run" tie-dye t-shirt.

SF shut down last fall. Speaking of pipe board homes, before it crashed the first time SF was always my first and last look of the day. Sorry. So technical issues took it down? Technical issues killed SF years ago. But they shut down with a month or two notice. SF was great but after the second major crash years ago people moved on. It went from the new post page turning over in a couple of hours to not turning over in a month. |

nothing special as no group close to visit. If the Smokers Haven in south Buffalo did anything, I'd not know. Fired up BB 1938 in AshtonMagnum & finished the paper. Next up, Apertif in probably largest meer. This place about all the "social life" around here

After church and lunch with Blondie and our sons, my boys and I headed down to our local B&M for their first ever IPSD gathering.
There were about a dozen of us, many of whom were relatively new pipe smokers.
I brough 4 briars with me, plus my son's pipes, and about a dozen tins of various blends.
By the time we left, sometime after 5, I had introduced 5 or 6 of them to Penzance, Stonehaven, Frog Morton and Carter Hall. ;-)
Great time
Looking forward to next years.

Dino, that sounds great and awesome that you could share such a wonderful selection with new smokers. You know they'll forever be pining for those smokes now, but maybe they can find some Penzance and Stonehaven from time to time in that B&M there. That's what really makes it fun when you plan to sit down in the B&M will several other smokers, especially if you plan for it and you have some tins to swap around and share.
I'd have went if our B&M did something in the afternoon but they stay closed on Sundays.

As for IPSD specials… or the lack thereof… I think it is unfair to think of the deals of the past and demand them in the present. It was a different time, with different profit margins.
