So, I'm checking out a pipe on Blue Room Briars and the description says it is suited for a sweet english blend. This is not something I've heard of before, so what is a sweet english? What are some examples?

Sitting here thinking about this topic I would include Frog Morton in this class. especially Frog Morton on the Town (FMOTT). It has basma tobacco in it and that gives it a natural sweetness.

Maybe if read between the lines they mean the pipe is ghosted with an English essence that defies complete removal attempts. Not at all an objectionable condition in my book.

"Sweet English blends strike me as those that add sweetened black Cavendish to the blend."
I agree ... SPC Plum Pudding comes to mind.

John nailed it. McClelland Frogs Maggie, On the Town and Cellar would top my list.

Having had the pleasure of speaking with the proprietors of Blue Room Briars, I have been asked prior to pipe selection and purchase if I minded a ghost presence.... I always respond that ghosts are never unwelcome in my home. Just ask them what they mean and an honest forthright answer will follow. :-)

Well since my taster doesn't like sweet tobaccos gives you more to smoke. For me Black Cavendish has a after taste and the mustache note isn't that good. And it does ghost the stach.
