Right now I am smoking Presbyterian Mixture in a Savinelli Trevi 310 KS poker. According to Tobacco Reviews, it lists the blend as Latakia, Oriental/Turkish, Virginia. What makes the blend so sweet tasting?

I get citrus when I smoke Va, not really sweet. Maybe. It is me?

It could be, Darin had commented in the past about how ones ph balance can really affect the taste, affecting how a particular blend can vary from smoker to smoker.

I got a vivid reminder of that a few years ago, when I started a course of antibiotics after some dental work. The two blends I was smoking at the time suddenly tasted totally different. At the moment I don't remember the specifics of one of them, but the Solent Mixture tasted like salt. Very strange experience.

Red Virginia is the sugary sweet one for me. The Yellow Virginia is the grassy flavor.

Light Virginia tends to be citrus and grass. Dark Virginia tends to be sweet. Young Virginia will be sweeter than aged Virginia due to fermentation.
I don’t get sweet when I smoke Presbyterian. Although, I don’t like it young and age my tins at least a year before popping.

I have only been pipe smoking for 6 months.
