Thanks for sharing this journey. Fun looking through your progress since pipe #1 and look forward to seeing more.

Been playing catchup on your latest work. Pipe #14 is a beauty! What a great shape, and that rustication came off nicely. The revisit on the other pipe (where you modified the shank) was also nicely done.

Drilled and roughed a couple blocks today. These are going to be billiards, I hope.

Man, you just keep churning them out. How long does the average pipe take to make?

Man, you just keep churning them out. How long does the average pipe take to make? Probably 14-16 hours, spread over a few days.

I'll be doing the billiards one at a time. At least the carving/shaping part of the process. I'll also be taking my time to focus on the shape and proportions. These'll probably take longer than my biggest freehands.

Starting to look like a billiard, I think. More shaping to do. This one is definitely a learning experience.

After my billiards are done, I think I'm gonna try something like this.

After a few weeks, I decided that I'd try to clean the scar up and add more contour to the surface of the bowl. I thought I really had nothing to lose. I managed to get rid of that scar by carving and sanding it larger, turning it into a fluted surface. Then, I repeated that technique in a few other places around the bowl. Exceptional, looks like you have a knack

Silver has me block shopping. It can sit next to the 300 gun and custom lock pick projects on the bench. I ALWAYS get to them just not too quickly. Gotta plan, so on and so forth...and laziness of course.

Is it all in the journey, or is it in the destination?

The journey, the learning, the creativity, the therapy. I haven't got a planned destination. Just having fun, usually. Even when I make mistakes, which is frequent.

I'd be a rube if you were a salesman because I am sold. Can you suggest a pre-drilled blank with stem you would recommend?
