That sandwich sounds tasty. I don’t think I’ve ever tried a combo of olive loaf and pickle loaf. A few months ago, I had ordered a mortadella sandwich at the deli in Charlotte (MI) and they accidentally made an olive loaf sandwich instead. I actually didn’t mind; it was a pleasant surprise. I did have an olive burger at the diner in the village for lunch a couple days ago. I’ve heard, but never confirmed, that an olive burger is a Michigan regional food much like the coney dog. Olive loaf and pickle loaf=bologna with built-in condiments. Olive burgers are good, too. Don't know if any of these are a Michigan thing. They could be. It's something that strikes me as being regional. Best washed down with a can of Stroh's or Altes! Italian mortadella is pretty darn good, too! If you’re ever near Charlotte, MI and hungry, check out Sidestreets Deli. Boarshead Meats and house made bread. About 30 years ago, the owner had Sidestreets Deli in East Lansing and was fairly well known. After a hiatus, he revived the deli in Charlotte.

Spending most of my life in NYC, we had great “hero’s” from Italian deli’s. Crusty Italian bread usually with Boars Head. I never heard of Taylor ham or pork roll, until I moved to NJ. In NJ they love their mushy “sub” breads. In wholefoods, they have “European style ham” which is out of this world.

Peter Heinrich’s Dark Strong Flake in an Austrian lap pipe.
Good to be home.
Extremely windy in the Navajo/ Ute nation on the four corners… Them winds will put a bowl in a cauldron situation.

First time trying War Horse Green. Smelled fantastic when I opened the tin, but smoke. I think I will revisit it in a week or so.

Still puffing on Granger, and sipping coffee. I've just loaded a Savinelli 9004 with a mix of Afterhours Flake and Old Black Magic. I'll smoke this on the way to pick up my woodchipper from the repair shop. We'll see how well the rum and chocolate play together.

Engine #99 in the Friday Savinelli, after an afternoon of garage clean out, and prepping for another run to the coast for some surf fishing. Planning on leaving very early to try and catch the low tide, so this might be the only bowl this evening...
