Astley's No. 44 in a Rattray's Rhodesian. Coffee brewing.... How do you like your Rattray? I only have one, a bent apple goblin, but if it is the case with all of them, they smoke great. I like it so far. It is the only pipe I have ever had with a filter. The filter tends to restrict the draw slightly (which I like since I can sometimes get in a rush and puff a bit too furiously). Waiting to see what kind of gunk the filter might cause to build up in the shank. But--so far, so good.....

Working on the Rum Raisin from last night. The pipe is my Old Dominion billiard. The mixture, one of my own, is far less aromatic than it sounds. There's dark, and toasted burley enough to leave only a hint of the Sunset Rum I started with; still more than enough sweetness for me. A pastry smoke, with some fresh, hot coffee.

Had to take my grandmother down to the Indy university hospital for some labs and scans on Thursday and have remained insanely busy since.
It's been about 5 bowls of Big 'n' Burley 5 bowls of Sutliff VA Perique 5-6 bowls of C&D Small Batch Carolina Red Flake w/ Perique
the past couple days. Now starting another bowl of the Small Batch Red Flake in a 1960's BBB Own Make Thorneycroft sandblasted zulu.

Started the day with Haunted Bookshop in the Sunday cob and coffee on the front porch. Very warm and breezy today. Switched to Three Friars after a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop. Did a little yard work and prepped some chicken for the grill later. Back on the porch enjoying more Three Friars and the summer weather.
