Fribourg & Treyer Special Brown Flake in a Mimmo Provanzo. I found these bail-top Mason jars while strolling through Old Time Pottery a couple of days ago. I assume they are half-pint jars since the seem to hold the same amount of tobacco as the half-pint Ball jars I have been using for years. Flipping the bail seems easier than unscrewing lids. We will see how they hold up.... I have a couple of those in a bigger size. Working well for me so far. They work fine for short term storage like a few years. If you want to age for 10+ years don’t use bail jars as the gasket will dry out and lose seal.

Reorganizing the cellar this afternoon, which entails rotating all the tins and oldest jars forward and retaking a mental stock of years and amounts. I don't keep a spreadsheet because I prefer to occasionally forget what's buried. This is also so that I can get a mental picture of the next 10 or so tins to be opened once I finish some things in rotation. Today I will finish a tin of 2021 Carolina Red Flake w/ Perique, finish off the remainder of my 2012 Frog Morton Cellar, and a few others are a couple bowls shy of completion. Finishing the Red Flake /w Perique now in a 1960's BBB Own Make Thorneycroft sandblasted zulu.

Ran about 6 bristle cleaners with Everclear and 8 regular tapered through the current Mark Twain and surprisingly, it finally came out clean enough I could see the brown of the shank wood in the bottom, beyond the pitch black cake that it had been. After a good shank cleaning and a bit of a dry, I've put the 14k gold filled band on and a Forever stem type A in orange/black. I tried to take a few photos comparing this two year old Mark Twain to that of a new but the lighting I have just kept making the photos looked too washed out. The new look white with plaster of Paris while this one is virtually all darkened yellow all around and coloring from the smoking. These pipes are the thickest Missouri Meerschaum cobs and can really take a licking. Thousands of smokes and it just keeps on kicking. I'll just post one comparison pic to see if it's more noticeable on screen.
Smoking my last bowl of 2012 McClelland's Frog Morton Cellar in it. Not the pictured 2001 tin of Stonehenge Flake

Nice pipe I really like that one. Thank you. It was UGLY when I won it on ebay. The stem was completely yellow and it was covered in grime. I had SEVERAL hours just in the stem alone. I love that pipe. It hangs perfectly and is as light as can be.
