I gravitate to pokers and pots for English mixtures and apples and billiards for virginias and flakes. Am I on the right track?

The girls thoroughly enjoyed the day at the museum and we ended up being there most of the day. After the museum we stopped in at Cabela's for a bit. This evening I smoked some Big 'n' Burley in a Falcon with a rustic algiers dark walnut bowl, and I'm currently touching off some C&D Small Batch Folklore in an MM Mark Twain.

I gravitate to pokers and pots for English mixtures and apples and billiards for virginias and flakes. Am I on the right track? I find it has more to do with chamber size and not pipe shape. For me: Narrower chambers tend to like Virginia. Wider chambers tend to like English or Burley. I avoid narrow "deep" chambers as I find them hard to keep lit in the last half of the bowl. For me, I define an average chamber as 0.75” x 1.5”. So, narrow is < 0.75” and wide is > 0.75” and deep is > 1.5”. I find 0.75” x 1.5” chambers to be the most flexible and can smoke any type of blend.
