I'm glad Pujols got that career mark, but his career started a million years ago. Then again, Sox have Rich Hill, who started during the (T) Roosevelt administration. And he's still good.
Judge was foiled by rain last night. In the 6th, they delayed for an hour and a half, then called it at 11pm. I think Yankees have a travel day today.

I miss Rich Hill. He was fun to watch.
The lockout created a lot of schedule weirdness. We played a 5 game series against the Diamondbacks last week, and we finish the season with a 6 game series against the Rockies. None of them are makeup games.

Hill comes to do the job. Sox brought up a young RHP, Brayan Bello, that he seems to have taken under his wing.
Boston had a couple of series that didn't make sense but now have a lot of days off, which would be great if they were playing after next week. I haven't been paying attention lately. Watching with one eye. I don't know what postseason is going to look like for everyone else yet.

Pedro Martinez at the plate was a giggle. Zero bases run, though.

A fellow Dodgers fan described Rich in full flight as looking like "a giraffe with a splinter in its toe."

I can almost picture that.
Tonight at Fenway Orioles 8 Sox 13, bottom 4th. This could get silly.

Just finished watching "Yankees-Dodgers: An Uncivil War" on ESPN. Chronicles the '77 and '78 seasons of both teams. Talk about dysfunctional families. Lotsa fun. Focused on the internal turmoil on both teams. Lotsa George/Billy/Reggie and Garvey/Sutton/Lasorda. Emily will like that Bucky Dent was featured in interviews and game action in the documentary.

Names from my Little League years. And, yes, Bucky Dent is a local favorite. But did you ever eat Reggie Bars?
Th-that's all folks for my boys this year. They were steamrolled by Jays over the weekend and just a last series with Rays starting tonight, during which they will most likely be steamrolled. Now that takes me back to yesteryear.

Who's got the Series this year? Give us your picks!
I say Dodgers and Astros get their pennants. Dodgers win the Series in 6 games. Helluva walk off by Alvarez for 'Stros yesterday. And Vasquez seems to be working out behind the plate. I nodded off during the Spankees game, though.
And Bruins open tonight so we'll be at Boston Gahden, spiritually, anyway.
(Funny, I was just reading something not baseball related and they mentioned the date in 1978 when Bucky Dent went over the wall. Heck, I think my mom's still carrying resentment towards Grady Little for not pulling Pedro Martinez after the Jeter homer in '03. Boston fans are a different breed.)

Boston people are a different breed! I know some that aren't baseball fans.

Watched the Astros and Mariners for a while, took a nap, watched some more, fixed pizza for supper, watched some more. Now looking for a movie. One time I sat in my car for hours instead of going in the house when the 'Stros lost a game in 21 innings. Never again.

Ha ha, in another thread I mentioned that I watched a whole Bruins game between the 10th and 17th inning of the Astros game. I was back in time to see Peña knock it out. Crazy. Alvarez was the star of that series for me.
Now, if Tito's Cleveland boys can knock out the Spankees, it'll be a good weekend.

I can't believe that the Dodgers folded! How do you win 111 games and not make the Series?

That game tied a previous Astros game as the longest in playoff history. So, it wasn't just me. Too bad about the Yankees, they would have made great ratings. 😈

Yankees aren't done yet. They're only up by two in the 7th. Go Guardians!
Is it too late to edit my picks? Postseason isn't shaking out like I thought.

I guess we'll have to wait on Yankees. It's still rain delay, but it's 9:30 in New York.
Bruins are up by two on Florida, tho'.

Astros are kicking butt. I'm glad.
I don't know about NL, though. I didn't think either Padres or Phillies would be where they're at. By popular vote, this house is behind the Padres.

I think the Phillies and Padres are fighting over who gets to be the Astros' final victim.

Astros to sweep at Yankees Stadium tomorrow night!

Maybe. It would be nice, especially after the welcome they got at Yankee Stadium. They wanted to play the Astros, didn't they? 😁

They did until they didn't. After the early two run shot by the Astros, Yankee Stadium sounded like a morgue.

I guess it's the Phightin' Phils v Astros (when Astros sweep tonight).
I mean, Yankees could come back from a 3-0 deficit, but it's not like they're the 2004 Red Sox or anything!
