I bought a Merrick Poker recently and love it. I don’t think it’s new, but re-released and potentially limited run. Regardless, it looks great, smokes great, and is a great clencher.

Those Merrick's do look nice. Just ten years ago cobs were very cheap and I could buy a bag of them direct from MM for like $35. Now it seems they're heavily focusing on selling $30+ cobs and it's getting hard to believe that four cobs will cost $120+ but I do love my cobs. In a sense I also got what I'd been wishing for, which was Missouri Meerschaum to start putting acrylic stems or the additional option to do so for all their cobs. I certainly plan to get a few of these newer cobs.

There are quite a few new shapes that interest me!

It's nice to see they're broadening their range. Also adding better quality items is a very good thing. Why these should be limited editions escapes me, though.

No idea why acrylic isn’t an upgrade option for all the cobs. Idk, I’m not in the corn cob biz, but I’d love to buy a simple Legend cob with an acrylic for an extra $5 or whatever.

I agree, the acrylic stems are about $18-22. You can also go the route of buying various Forever stems (acrylic) for your cobs from VermontFreehand.com which is a great option to choose your stem color and shape separately.

Vermont Freehand sells Forever Stems for MM pipes for about $17. The tenon might need tweaking to fit your pipe. They also sell acrylic stems (4 different styles) for about $6. These require sizing the tenon to a mortise. These are what I use in most of my self-made pipes and a few corncobs.

Just ordered a Forever style A in Orange/Black and a style E in Dark Orange Swirl and a 14k gold band for my Mark Twains. Going to make my well-cooked meerschaum POP!

Nope. I like how stained it is from 2-3k smokes. I'll take some new pics with the band and stem in the mod cob thread. "Missouri Meerschaum" because the cob colors like meerschaum.

I first read that as 2-3 smokes (not noticing the k after the 3). I was thinking, 'good grief what way do YOU smoke! A few thousand makes more sense.

Haha, yes. I smoke about 1,500 bowls in my Mark Twains per year, give or take a bit. In winter I may only smoke it once or twice per day while in summer I often smoke about five bowls through the same cob in a day working outside.
