It looks georgeous! I only always chicken out on the black lacquer finish as it´s so hard to refurbish. Big Ben pipes are made in the Netherlands and are as good as it gets in my opinion. I have the Al Pascia Curvy which is made by Big Ben too. Other Big Ben pipes I handled were the same great quality. I don´t see no reason to pass a Big Ben.

Made in the Netherlands and declared bankruptcy in 2012. I guess they reorganized and remain in business. Big-Ben has its fans and I've never heard anything bad about them. That looks like a very well made pipe and Al Pascia is a highly reputable retailer. They usually have excellent prices so no worry with them.

thanks guys! i fell in love with it -- the shape is perfect, nice stem (though i would like one a little longer, maybe i can have an alternate made?) I saw a Big Ben White Tiffany on ebay, and I really liked it but didn't know anything about Big Bens so I passed. Now it is gone

hahaha, it is cute! The whit one looks great too. It´s a good thing that they left the rim in Briar, it would be impossible to keep it pristine when smoking.

i hadn't noticed that. one of the reasons i've kind of held off on getting it was the concern over it discoloring. maybe this one would be okay....

BC pies?? LOL! I liked the middle one, that was really pretty. Liked the red stem on the last one. the first one was ... interesting. I actually have a BC pipe on it's way -- Frank helped me order the strawberry rusticated one I found on the czech website. Can't wait! And even with paying shipping twice it was a really good price!

I've ordered a number of pipes from them and they are first rate! Never an issue at all...
