Zarnicky just tried new pipe. Rattray's Devil Cut (130) pipe is nice reverse calabash. I smoke it with 9mm Vauen filter. Tobacco was The Country Squire - Treasure Island. Zarnicky expecting rum taste but instead it tasting like maple syrup. The tobacco is just ok. Very slight tongue bite. Zarnicky will give it another chance. Can anyone suggest a sweet, mild tobacco tasting like rum? here is photo of pipe.  |

Sutliff Spiced Rum is good, but it's not mild. It has a fairly strong rum taste. Great room note.
Wilke Rum and Maple is good. The rum overpowers the maple, but again, the rum's not that mild.

I drink rum, other than navy flake that purportedly has rum in it, I never smoked it.
That is a cool looking pipe you have there, swashbuckler!

Assuming you mean a mild tobacco as in nicotine strength, I'd still suggest something like Gandalf suggested with Sutliff Spiced Rum, Sutliff Barbados Plantation, Sutliff Buttered Rum, Sutliff Sunset Rum 2000 (caramel,rum, vanilla) Super Value Buttered Rum, Smoker's Pride Rum Cured, Sutliff also has one called Rum Raisin D57, Low Country Rum (It's rum & maple though, many of them are) one of the milder burley, va, cavendish rum mixtures. I love rum mixtures but I like em strong. Gawith Hoggarth Rum Twist,Gawith Hoggarth Rum Flake, Speakeasy Navy Flake, and a couple other navy flake type blends. These are much stronger in tobacco flavor and nicotine strength. If you like a mild and sweet rum laced English mixture, I'd also highly recommend Mac Baren Plumcake. |

Zarnicky just smoked The Country Squire's - Treasure Island again with the same pipe. I am no longer disappointed. This wonderful tobacco. Is very sweet and mild with no tongue bite whatsoever. Sometimes good to giving tobacco a second chance. Zarnicky not understanding it but Treasure Island is delicious. Zarnicky will still trying some of your suggestions.

Zarnicky just smoked Sutliff Spiced Rum using meerschaum 9mm filter. Different pipe.I finding tobacco very mild and sweet. Thank you for suggestion. Zarnicky liking this tobacco. I will liking even better when pipe is broken in and tobacco aged a bit. |
