I just saw this big batch of brown sandblasted System De Luxe with silver caps at SPC. Can we consider them as a De Luxe De Luxe series? They detail at $320 before any VIP discount. Very nice looking pipes, though, when the blast is done right.

Very nice! The Deluxe System pipes are head and shoulders above the other Petersons in the smoking experience. Still take a long break in though. Of course a lot of people don't like the P-lip and they are a bit of a pain to clean. You can't just lay it down and walk away after a smoke. I love mine.

I do agree, Ron, on the System's, err, sytem. From what I have experienced, the aluminium chimney added in the De Luxe makes allows the tasting of more flavours than the Standard System, which don't have any. I also found that even the Standard System smoke better than, let's say, the Sherlock Holmes series.

That bowl cap looks like a negative feature to me. Also, too small a pipe for my taste.

I've also taken the regular System pipes and added an aluminum tube extension that makes a significant improvement.

Just curious: did anyone pull the trigger on one of those De Luxe De Luxe?

Just curious: did anyone pull the trigger on one of those De Luxe De Luxe? I doubt it. That's an expensive pipe for most of us. The kind of thing that we buy once.

I just listened to the latest Country Squire podcast, JD the tobacconist opined that initially when Laudisi took over he had rose colored glasses. With the passage of time, they still have a lot of issues in QC in all areas of production… drilling, stems, stain in bowls, etc.., and the ship has been traveling in a bad direction for a long time, so it will take awhile to get things right. My opinion: Laudisi should fly a group of artisan pipe makers over there as consultants to offer advice and constructive criticism.
Having said that, I am happy with all of my Peterson’s.

Peterson already has an artisan working for them. Giacomo Penzo.

On the other hand half of my retirement savings are in Exxon Mobile and an oil industry fund. And 20% is in gold. 😁

And I don't believe one bit Ukraine and Russia have anything to do with it, that's complete rubbish.

When I fuel the company truck, it blows my mind at how quickly the hundreds of dollars rack up.
Costco/ Sam’s club generally have the lowest prices around here. Costco could Jack prices higher than everyone else, but the sheep would still head the the long line and wait 20 minutes to fuel.
Them $80,000.00 cowboy Cadillac trucks with the big engines must really be expensive beasts to feed.

An Escalade or Navigator? Holy smoke!

Them trucks ride like a dream, and for those that do a lot of towing, it makes sense. I know several people that use them as daily drivers… whoa Nellie!
I am happy with my Nissan Frontier 6 cylinder, it handles all of my hauling needs. Several years back, when gas prices spiked, it seemed them big trucks were on every corner with a for sale sign on them. I decided then and there that I do not want to ever be in that camp.
(I pretty much only drive it 5 miles each way to work x3 weekly. I am just at a point that I need to take it out for more miles and get it hot enough to run all of the moisture out of the system.)
The wife drives a Mazda CX 5 that averages 26 mpg per tank.

I don’t plan on selling my 6.6L 2500HD Diesel, despite current high fuel costs. When I bought her diesel was cheaper than petrol. Ha! THAT didn’t last long. But I also said she was my “last truck” and I will prolly make that come true. I tow a 3200# travel trailer with her and the force majeur she provides is comforting even if overkill. (She’s rated for 15,600#.)

I had to park my work truck in an empty lot across from the hotel in Cortez, with 200+ gallons of diesel fuel. I told the boss that he might want to outfit the fleet with locking fuel caps. It is just a matter of time before one of us ends up with a morning surprise.
Years ago, while picking up a container at American President Lines at port of Oakland… everything shuts down for an hour for lunch. Sitting in my cab I heard a ticking and went to investigate.
An owner operator was parked near me, he had an electric fuel pump mounted on his frame with quick disconnect hoses and was siphoning off diesel from the gen sets (frame mounted mobile unit that hooks on the chassis frame to run the reefer units).
A real cost saving for him!

System De Luxe with silver caps option!😉

It’s the ton and a quarter Silverado. With only 170,000 on it.
