It always makes me happy to see that the musicians I listened to when young are still active and making music.
Not just because I like their music, but because it gives me hope now that I'm an old codger myself.

I like the fact that he isn't in large venues, I am done with watching jumbotrons or selling a kidney to be close. An interesting read on the meaning behind the lyrics of Bye, Bye Miss American Pie. www.bbc.com/news/magazine-32196117Maybe Legend Lover can see him, Oct. 7th in Dublin. Surprised to see only one date in Ireland, he is all over England with many dates.

Hot Springs isn't far, but I don't think that I could stand to hear American Pie again. At least I can change the channel on the radio.

I heard him on an interview many years ago where a deejay was trying to plumb the depths of his soul on that song and trying to find some sort of religious / mystical response. “what did it really, really mean to you when you wrote that song?” Response “I realized I would never have to work again” That is far from his whole body of work Ron, glad that you care not to see him, but he is a great musician nonetheless.😉

I also like quieter more intimate venues. I wouldn't spend money on a ticket to watch someone on a massive screen or see a dot on a stage.

Years ago my wife’s friend husband had a small bar, she said Merle Haggard was a friend of her husband and would play there, did we want to see him. We went and we sat right next to the stage, quite a night for us, loved Momma said, brought tears to my eyes.

But that one song is over done.

I see the Peter Noonan of Herman's Hermits is going to be at the same place. That would be nice.

I have always been a fan. Vincent is one of my favorite songs of all time. Beautiful song.

He dropped the NRA gig in Houston after the school shooting. You really don’t want to play and sing after something like that!

Zarnicky not spring chicken either but I started ukulele club (After Dinner Ukulele Society) several yeas ago. Zarnicky playing Don McLean's "Vincent" on soprano ukulele. Is beautiful song. Zarnicky also liking Gordon Lightfoot, James Taylor and Bob Dylan.
