Stewart going crazy too, but nothing to do with pipes. Just natural state.
I've gotten into sandblasts the last few years, so I like the first; I also like the color of its stem. Unfortunately I've never owned a Rattray, so I can't speak for the quality one way or the other.
If you are really undecided between these two, I'm going to give you the advice you surely know you'll get here:
Buy both.

I like the sandblast too. I don't know who makes them, but that one's a looker.

I have one Rattray (Dark Ale 105). I consider it a good smoker even though it's one of their lower-end offerings. I like the sandblast, too.

I like the sandblast too. I don't know who makes them, but that one's a looker. Chacom handles a lot of the Rattray pipes. They also handle all of the Brigham pipes. I take this from someone working for them.

I like the sandblasted one too. The yellow stem would look great on it.

Some of their pipes though are quite beautiful. Indeed. The Klondike finish is very nice. I tried a few of them some years back. On 2 of them, the filter got literally stuck. I had to use vice grips to remove them. That ended my relationship with the brand.

Another one for the sandblasted pipe. Looks lovely. If it doesn't smoke to your liking, I'll give you my address for disposal.

I like the sandblasted one too. The yellow stem would look great on it. The pipe is Rattray's: Beltane's Fire Black Sandblasted (9mm) It coming with all 3 stems: black, yellow and reddish one. I just bought it from Smoking Pipes. I should having it in couple weeks. I'll letting you know how it smokes. Zarnicky happy. My English getting gooder.

Congrats! I believe the Beltane’s is Eddy Gray’s favorite pipe, over at the Pipe Nook.

Zarnicky just smoked the pipe for first time. Meerschaum 9mm filter. I smoking Sutliff Spiced Rum. Pipe seems to be a good smoker but needs to be broken in. Pipe looking very nice and feeling good in hand. Today Zarnicky also smoked Country Squire - Hunting Creek in Savinelli Aligator Brown (673 KS). - This wonderful combination! Zarnicky love feel of stem. I thinking Hunting Creek is Zarnicky's favourite tobacco so far. Zarnicky preferring 9mm charcoal filter. Happy puffing to you all.
