I ordered 2 Tins of Palmetto Balkan, 1 tin of Bengal Slices and 5 packs of pipe cleaners, from smoking dollars. They made a mistake and sent a tin of Balkan Sasieni in stead of a Tin of Bengal Slices. Now they want crime scene photos. Can’t they just check that their inventory is off?

They just sent this, but I want to pay for he Sasieni anyway.
Hello Mark, I have just gone ahead and placed the replacement order for the Bengal Slices and it is going out in the mail today. I am sorry for the inconvenience so you are more than welcome to keep the Balkan Sassieni on us since it was our mistake. Do not worry about sending in the photos this time I will do without them as a courtesy.

Maybe they watch the Patch? However, they did not offer for me to return the mis-described Pete they sent me. The offer would have been nice— and appropriate— despite my keeping it. Their attitude was more “So we made a mistake. Tough.”

P&C has been good about fixing screwed up orders for me. Anyone can make a mistake but how they handle it makes a difference.

Never had a customer service problem with SP.a pipe was delivered to the wrong address once (one block over), they were willing to replace it. The homeowner brought it to me, so replacement wasn't necessary.
I've heard horror stories about P&C, but never had a problem with them.

This was my original reply to the photo request, and it is the honest truth.
The day I received it at my residence in NJ, I had to drive down to Va due to my father being hospitalized. It may be a few days to a week, before I can do that. I already have a sleeve of Balkan Sassieni. I wanted to try the Bengal Slices that I paid for. Once I can send you a photo, if it is agreeable to you, I’ll keep the Sassieni, you send the Bengal slices with free shipping and I will pay for the Balkan Sassieni. Regards, Mark

The photo request made no sense. But they stepped up to the plate and did a very generous thing. Thanks for validating my feelings Ron

I am done with them. They made a major screw up on my last order and it cost me big bucks in customs fees, so I'm stuck with it. They used to be good. Not anymore. I have no time for businesses that keep saying sorry, but take no accountability. You can take your sorry (but you're not really) and put it where the sun doesn't shine.

Sometimes government gets in the way. No, government ALWAYS gets in the way. It's really hard to work around Canadian customs and I'm sure that the US is just as bad.

I'm Silver VIP with SmokingPipes and have been mostly buying from them as my primary etailer since 2012. I've never had a wrong order other than on two occasions where I was actually sent an extra tin. Trying to contact them to pay for it or send back and both times they gave it to me on the house. I've had nearly 1/4 of my orders have issues with P&C. Honest. However, P&C are also good about fixing mistakes.

Their attitude was more “So we made a mistake. Tough.” I concur with the measurements thing. With the last pipe I received, they were out to lunch, and that made a big difference - the pipe was larger that stated. Too large, in fact, for my liking. So, enough. As the saying goes: I might be dumb, but I ain't stupid.

Sorry you guys have so many issues with SP. I've gone to them as my primary source for many years and never had a single issue. TobaccoPipes is my number 2. Never had an issue with them either. All one can say is better luck next time.

... I've had nearly 1/4 of my orders have issues with P&C. Honest. However, P&C are also good about fixing mistakes. I've only had one order messed up by P&C. They sent me the wrong tobacco. Oh it was a close second, basically the same as I'd ordered, a VA/Per, but with a trace of Latakia added. I think the batch was mislabeled because it definitely said "Victoria Blend" on the label, and it is supposed not to have any Latakia. I decided not to notify because I actually enjoyed the blend. It was much like what I had been used to smoking for many years previously. Now on the other hand, had they sent me something egregious like a syrupy drugstore blend, that would have been different.

As the saying goes: I might be dumb, but I ain't stupid. That is unacceptable when they make a big deal about “the pipe your see, is the one you get”… getting the measurements right shouldn’t be difficult. I have had really no issues with any of the online tobacconists, and I have bought quite a bit over the years.

Maybe I live a charmed life, but over the last several years I have ordered tons of stuff from Smoking Pipes and Tobacco Pipes, and a bit from Watch City and Mars. Never had a problem. EVERY order arrived well packaged and in a timely fashion. Now let me go knock on some wood....

When I first started smoking cigars, I ordered a sample from P&C around Christmas time a few years ago. They sent me a case of Brickhouse samplers instead. Gave away a few at Christmas.

Of course, I have communicated my concerns to SPC about the latest incident I experienced. They are making things right. They managed to track down the pipe I ordered and will send it out. They will take back the other I received, even though I was in the process of smoking it when I realized something was wrong. They will reimburse me the return shipping cost and, if Canadian customs claim anything with the replacement pipe, they will also reimburse me the fees. So, I will give credit when credit is due. I am totally satisfied with their corrective measure and, yes, I will buy from them again. Great job, SPC.

Claude, just pull the Gulfstream out of mothballs, fire it up and do some in person shopping.
There are ways around this nonsense.
