Started the day with Haunted Bookshop and coffee on the front porch. Watered all the pots, baskets and garden boxes while it was still in the 80s this morning. Had a couple bowls of Three Friars in the Wednesday cob and a Savinelli Nonpareil. Switched to do a couple indoor tasks and took a nap. Now, on the front porch with some Three Friars in the Wednesday cob. 95 and very humid.

Having some HH Burley Flake in the Wednesday cob. Been sitting in a jar for about a year. Tastes better than fresh. Reminds me a bit of Half & Half, actually.

My internet was down for the last couple days. Some idiot ran off the street and crashed into the main junction box for our neighborhood and the crew just finished a little while ago with installing the new box in ridiculous heat. Anyway, I’ve mostly been smoking my usual tobaccos, but I dug some out that I’ve had for a while and just haven’t gotten around to trying. One was Peretti London Flake, which I’ve been enjoying quite a bit. Right now I’m smoking Manil Reserve du Patron and appreciating my air conditioning.

Good ol' American ISPs, lagging 15+ years behind all of Europe and charging us triple for the privilege.
I'm smoking more Ennerdale.

I remember watching off and on a crew splicing both copper and fiber after a backhoe incident in a data-dense area North of Houston. In a hole during an entire night of thunderstorms. Nasty work. Can't wait for the quantum pairs that will transmit huge amounts of data instantly across any distance.

2016 Haunted Bookshop in a Mark Twain with orange/black Forever stem and gold band this morning while tying and staking tomatoes. The work paying off portion is creeping in as I look at hundreds of tomatoes developing, and thousands upon thousands of blossoms.

Comoy's Cask #9, with my morning coffee, in a Savinelli Oscar{the tobacco not the coffee},from a can I put aside in hopes of a change of some kind that would more smokable for me. I left it in the little paint can, as tobacco seems to hold up well in this type of container. This morning the Virginias have pushed their way forward, with notes of hay and citrus, and only a faint nougat/vanilla flavor, but not a hint of any chocolate. There is some good Virginia in this can, but I think the blend is better suited for an afternoon smoke ,with iced tea, than a morning smoke with coffee. The tobacco did seem to burn a mite fast, but Y.M.M.V. ,I'm a burley lover in the morning, and I pushed it a tad, looking for those darker cooler puffs I'm used to.

A stewpot mixture I call " Third Encounter ", in a sandblasted billiard marked Savinelli Oscar. Sounds interesting Herb. What’s the recipe if you don’t mind sharing? Not a process I'd recommend, Ted, but hear goes... I started with a tin of Sutliff's Eastfarthing, I added tobacco from one of those Chocolate flavored cigars; a Churchill size one, with a lovely rich cigar aroma, I grew tired of the darker notes I found at that point, and added a half ounce of Yorktown, thinking to brighten the smoke a bit...some weeks later I found almost an ounce of Sutliff's Toasted Burley, and that ended up in the mix... have you ever? If you don't count the original tin, that's three encounters.
