GQ Tobaccos Askwith Kake... the world has recently lost one of the greatest most genius pipe tobacco blenders due to granny state Euro regulations (though I hear through the grapevine that some GQ blends may emerge once more through an established online retailer). I will partake of my most sublime treasured stash sparingly.

Per the recommendation of someone here. I am cracking my first tin of GL Pease Quite Nights. Which smells wonderful! Into the Georg Jensen it goes. Char light is done, now down to business. 10 minutes in now. Oh my. I think we have a winner here folks! Dang all, I only bought 2 tins😝 Think I'll call in sick tomorrow and stay home and smoke the rest of this tin

Relaxing after a wonderful Hawaiian chicken dinner with a bowl of Rattray’s Wallace Flake in a slight bend 1968 group 4S Dunhill Shell 475 cherrywood with a black vulcanite stem. Have enough left for one more bowl. M'lady asked me to help her in the kitchen. I said I was too busy. I wasn't. I was just teasing her. She said "What are you doing that's so important that you can't help me?" I said, "I'm sitting here smoking for two people." Once she stopped laughing, she said, "You win."

Your posts make me want to go back down to the kitchen and have dinner again. Quick question for you Jim.... I recently received my first tin of DNR. Haven't popped it open yet as I was unsure as to how I wanted to proceed. I've seen where some folks fold the coins over a couple of times and stuff em in the bowl. Others rub em out. Is there any noticeable difference in the either the flavor or difficulty in lighting/smoking with one vs the other?

Is there any noticeable difference in the either the flavor or difficulty in lighting/smoking with one vs the other? I don't find enough of a difference that matters. I break the coins into small pieces with my fingers, and drop them into the bowl. I always manage to get a fairly consistent flavor.

Thick fog on the West Coast of the Dark Continent this morning made the drive to work interesting. Left the two furries fast asleep in their baskets. Wonder what they were up to last night. Started my day with two short bowls of Tabac Manil's Reserve du Patron (Semois) in a pYp (Goussard second) canadian. Coffee on the side.
