I think it only seems that way because you live in SF. If you get out of the cities, there are a lot of enthusiasts. I visit a couple of California firearms forums and they are active and advanced. They are also looking east. I'm sure you're right, Ron. I love the City and the Bay, but I detest the "political correctness". My permitted .380 is always on me. Have solid plans to relocate to OR or WA by this time next year. I recommend Oregon. More gun friendly, and by far more tobacco friendly (so far). Besides, since Banchero's closed down, there's no reason to stay in California anymore.

Just placed an order through Amazon.com for 800 Blitz pipe cleaners, one of the Ganzo Firebird Carbon Fiber handeled knives that Lonecoyote recommended (and the 5CD boxed set of The Buffalo Springfield 5CD remastered set).

Excellent! It went back down to $29.49 (from $39.99 a week ago) so there was no way I wasn't going to buy it. I'll be listening to it soon after receiving it.

Hope you like your new knife, I use mine often, plus it’s still my EDC. It’s build quality, craftsmanship, blue anodized screws, and the carbon fiber handle scales makes this one of the nicest looking knives I’ve seen this year. Enjoy your new toy and post a few pictures 👌👍👌👍

This is the first order that I’ve made in a couple of months. I’m trying to be restrained after my splurge at the Chicago Show and the Columbus Show is coming soon. However, the recent Tobacco Meister badge sale at SP for 25% off 5 year old Capstan Gold Ready Rubbed caught my eye. Plus, I’ve been meaning to stock up on C&D Professor since I discovered it a couple months ago. so THAT'S where all the Capstan went... They still had 110 in stock after I ordered. 😁

My friend from Long Island would have given them to me, but I traded the 6 tins of the new McB Burley Flake.....which he enjoys and I really don’t, for 4 tins of 2011 Solani ABF..Should be here before the weekend and tins are packed and I’ll ship with my next doctors appt. in Knightdale on August 8th, he has no problem waiting. We know each other for almost 44 years👌👍

Ganzo makes a great knife. I believe that they devalue them because of the lousy translation of the descriptions. If they hired a native English speaker to rewrite them, then they could probably get another $10 each.

Very pleased.. the SOG was my EDC/work knife, but the ocean claimed it. I've felt naked at work without it.

I've always liked those knives that look like meat cleavers.

I know you have not had the Firebird Cleaver long enough to play around with yet, what’s your overall opinion of the craftsmanship & quality, first impression. I used a few drops of my pistol CLP on the pivot washers and the AXIS lock, made a big difference in the action. The AXIS lock was designed and patented by Benchmade knives, of course other knife manufacturers use the AXIS lock but states it’s a different design.....NOT!!! Enjoy, all 3 are beauties 👍👍👍

It's comfortable in the hand for sure. The handle has a nice feel to it, as far as handling goes, the carbon fiber pattern provides a nice grip. Its lightweight and everything fits snug. The blade is sharp, although I prefer mine with a little better edge. I'll fix that later with a wet stone. It's a very nice looking knife and I hope the functionality is just as good.
As far as the look and feel, I'd buy another. I'll use it for a few weeks and see how it holds up.
Edit: Oh yeh. The lock. I like the design of it. I was actually looking at some benchmade knives today at the local hardware store. I hope it holds up well.
One thing I like about the SOG is the blade lock. I carry my knife on the inside of my pocket, not on my belt. So the blade lock has always been a favorite of mine. I've had too many knives open in my pocket by mistake.

First up, took advantage of the Paul’s sale and found a Cayuga Appley sitter. Also picked up a pound of one of Paul’s blend. while I was away to Paul’s Pipe Shop, this arrived shortly after I returned home.

Charlie ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ very smart move! Great for trade, I’m not into selling for 5x’s the price! When I saw two year old tins...If I recall correctly on Pipestud's consignment page going for 3X or 4X the current price while it is still available, I knew I had to pull the trigger....I recommend others do also, even if they don't care for English blends. Steve Fallon wrote an article on how cellared English blends typically command the highest prices...exhibit one: Balkan Sobranie. I just wish I had more money to buy more.

Ordered the Dr. Grabow 2018 Commemorative pipe via snail mail (that's how they roll). Naming wasn't too inspired this year, being called: The Panel. However, still made from their select briar stock.
