I'm the only other person who ever posts that they smoke 1Q. I think that most just don't admit it. Which is strange because they admit to smoking M79.

I do have some aros that I need to sell off though, time is not their friend.

I made it through 2 oz of 1Q early on my journey. It always gave me severe cotton mouth.
I've never smoked M79

I do have some aros that I need to sell off though, time is not their friend. My 1Q is about 5 or 6 years old and still smoking fine for me. Tonight I smoked a bowl of Wilke Mettowee and my wife said that it smelled great and it tasted good to me. It going on 7 years old. But I agree that most aros don't hold up well with age. I wish I could just make blanket statements and be right.

1Q is one of the tobaccos that I'd like to try. I've heard stuff about it that makes me think it would be one I'd appreciate. It's on my list to pick up when I'm ever in USA.

I've smoked 1Q, and Mixture 79 too, Paladin also, and I think I liked them all as I puffed on them, just not enough to keep on hand. Same way with food, I can go all year without calf liver and onions, but put a plate of it in front of me, and I love it.

I don't believe that I have ever smoked 1Q. Though I understand is is often rebranded as a house blend by local shops, so I might have early in my smoking days. I will probably try it one day, but I approach aros with caution. I am not sure why, but some can really burn my tongue and dry out my palate. They can also be quite bitter at times.
A notable exception is Mixture Scottish, which I have really enjoyed. I still occasionally order some blends to try (picked up a few 4noggins blends, as well as 2oz of Mixture 79 most recently). They have been pretty good, but I have to give them plenty of drying time or they can bite a bit.

I believe that Jiminks said that it's the same as Captain Black Royal. I think it's different myself.

I believe that Jiminks said that it's the same as Captain Black Royal. I think it's different myself. There is a difference, Captain Black Royal wares a vail of creamy smoothness that 1Q lacks. More people must enjoy the bright, almost crisp flavor profile of 1Q, but I'm in the C.B. Royal camp.
