I already have my reservations and flight booked.
It isn’t a bad drive, but unless I am getting paid to drive, I would rather fly… and the hotel has a free airport shuttle.
Pretty sure that at least five or so others from the Arizona Pipe Club will be going.

Do you book the cab through the hotel for the fixed rate? Good Question, I just called the LV Taxi Authority and was told they automatically charge a zone rate and it’s charged automatically. I checked Uber and Lyft and they were about the same price. I remember being shocked by a Vegas cab fare before ride sharing became a thing.

Thanks for checking it out, Dave. In about 2000 I went to the national truck roadeo and was shocked that a ride from my hotel in Memphis to the airport was $65.00, but the boss was on the hook for that one. Nothing much would surprise me with the increase costs of fuel. I am flying to KCMO July1-5 with the wife and bought the tickets a month ago...$1,600.00 for two round trip tickets from PHX!
Anyone planning to fly, I would start looking asap...in my case of the KC trip, I had to wait until I could be guaranteed the time off. My Vegas flight is $350.00 for two by comparison.

Cool stuff, Dave!
Thank you for jumping on the wagon in order to keep things going at a great venue.
I would only add, if you are quick to think that it is too expensive to go to Vegas, do your research, there are a lot of routes into and back home that are cheaper than you might imagine. Vegas is big on attracting people in, and they have relationships with carriers to get people there.

This sucks! I was suppose to be the keynote speaker!
I sent Brian Levine and Dave a video of myself “Elvis, The Pipe Smoker”, my jet black dyed hair is just right, grew my pork chop sideburns, and had my jumpsuit cleaned. I even recorded a few songs:
“Love me tamper”
“Flake, Dottle, and Bowl”
Oulettes “Blackhouse Rock”
“There will be Peacehaven in the valley”
“Long tall chimney”
I was even going to share the recipe for peanut butter banana tobacco Elvis smoked.
I’m pissed!

Doing better, it is a long story I was going to post about it, but it would be a ridiculous in length. Things I have learned:
Don’t ever break your tibia, especially the plateau, it flares up and is excruciating at times. Flare ups from hell when the barometric pressure does it’s thing… out of the last 7 nights, 5 have been in the recliner.
Make sure your surgeon has a license to write a script for pain meds, mine does not, he wouldn’t admit it to me I found out from his radiologist. The industrial clinic would write one if he would approve it, but he won’t. I don’t understand it… I know all of the politics in the opioid realm, maybe he lost his authority? I have wanted to kick him in the jewels because of this, but with one good leg, not an option.
My flare ups are in the high 8’s, and I have a high tolerance for pain.
I don’t care if I come across as a drug fiend or not, going forward one of my first questions is going to be if they are concerned about my pain or not.
Last night was the first night in a week that I slept in my bed.

When I had mine done they put in a spinal pump for the pain the first day, but it came out while I was asleep and I woke up screaming. That was an 11 for me. I was laid up at home for a couple of months but I had vicoden for company.

Ron, was yours a broken tibia also?
Other than my doctor every medical professional I encountered told me that the nature of my break was extremely painful.
On my initial visit after getting back from Vegas the Physicians assistant told me that I needed Tramadol at the least to take the edge off.
Side note… when I broke it in Pahrump, I knew it wasn’t good didn’t know it was as bad as it was, I still unloaded 6000 pounds of dialysis solution off to 6 patients. All but one allowed me to stack it outside of the house. After the hour drive back to Vegas, I could only hop into Concentra medical clinic . Fortunately, my hotel was only a block away, and a fellow driver became my butler and chauffeur after that. Every bump in the road was hell.
Another driver rode shotgun the next day on his day off to drive my truck back, but he didn’t have to unload any patients.

Yeah, dropped my motorcycle and wife on it while on a group ride in Kerrville. They took off the kneecap and drove a titanium rod down to my ankle and bolted it top and bottom. This was June 12,2007. It hasn't hurt me for the last 3 years or so.

Last night was the first night in a week that I slept in my bed. Yikes. Sorry to hear that, Charlie. It does kinda sound like your surgeon may have gotten in a little water for overprescribing opioids, and now he's failing to be open with potential patients about it. That seems like something the AMA would frown on, too. Maybe if you mentioned the possibility of filing a complaint, he might be a little more cooperative with the clinic doc.
