You said to go to SmokingPipes.EU rather than .com. That's why I asked. I shop online, too. There are no Irish Seconds on smokingpipes.com, which is what most anybody in the US would use. Hence the question.

Hence the question. Only because Peterson seems to send most, if not all, of their 'Seconds' to the EU location. No, it's not true that most anybody in the US would use the US site. We're global now and we go wherever our 'stuff' awaits us. I buy over half of my Petersons from the EU site, and the rest from the US.

I'm going to get beat up for this, but here's another thought as to why the Seconds are on the EU site: Peterson is going to sell pipes wherever they can, and most of the people I read complaining about them in forums are Americans. We complain about pipe cleaners not passing through a bent system, drill holes being off a little - basically, everything. Not a market for 'Seconds'. You even said that you thought Peterson might be selling what would have been 'Seconds' in the past, as normal pipes. You aren't their market for 'Seconds'. I'm not either, frankly.

These guys account for about 95% of my smoking time.

They are just pipes. Most of mine are great and one is my best pipe. They aren't priced to be perfect. The top of the line Dunhill is 6x the top Pete. They are made on a hybrid assembly line, partially hand crafted but mostly not. Once again, if you don't like them, don't buy them. Buying one and not liking it is not a life changing experience. It's a very minor setback. Get a life in other words.

But I agree - not only was it not worth dwelling on - the topic wasn't even worth being introduced. If you don't like Petersons, go buy something else. But this topic has played out, so adios.

That copper color along with the nice finishes, has me a hankering! I've already seen them on ebay, but Mark Irwin says the drop is Tuesday. I guess a retailer jumped the gun? I'm done buying new pipes for a while - still have the Pete Geek pipe to pay for.
