Well, hubby and I were out today to pick up a rocking chair from someone on FB and we drove by an antique store. I thought I saw a mantel clock just like my grandmother's so we stopped. Well, we didn't realize there were two shops right next to each other and went in the first one, but it didn't have the clock, but we had to go through the entire store anyway, lol. Then we walked next door and there was another shop -- this one had three floors! AND, this shop had PIPES. First time I've found pipes in an antique store. The first one I saw was a GBD bulldog. It was in really good shape, not much cake in the bowl, I remember the number 549 on it, but no other writing, though there was some. They wanted $65 for it and I didn't know if that was a good price. There was also a Medico pipe, don't remember what it was called, but it had a thick walled bowl and the outside of the bowl was covered in leather. They wanted $22 for that one, I probably should have picked it up. I didn't leave empty handed, though, I got these 5 pipes for $30.
the one on the bottom is a Dr. Grabow Supreme, the one above just says "Colella" Imported Birar, the one in the middle is a Wally Frank Ltd. Pipe of the Month Sweet Root, then of course the MM Corn Cop, and the one on top just says "Trailblazer" on the metal shank. All the briars have quite a bit of cake in the bowls. I guess I gotta figure out how to clean them....

Good package deal. I really like that Grabow Supreme. Was the cob unsmoked?

no, it has been smoked several times, but there isn't any cake. I was quite pleased. There was another diamond shank there but the original stem was gone.

thanks! I was quite pleased. I'm really liking the shape of the Wally Frank. Just wish I knew what year and month it was.

congrats on your find. Am sure there's plenty folks who will give you instructions for cleaning those that need it.

I have one diamond shank cob myself, hard to get meanwhile. I love the Trailblazer! Guess it´s my weakness for metal pipes....
