Arizona Pipe Club Meetings for July

Greetings, fellow Pipe Smokers!
The pipe club meetings for July are:
Pipe club, Saturday, July 9th at 1Pm Big Sticks Fine Cigars
Pipe Night, Wednesday July 20th at 5 PM.
July 9th happens to be the day 144 years ago when Henry Tibbe, pioneer of the Corncob pipe had a patent issued with improvements of the corncob pipe. Most notably in the fifth paragraph, plaster of Paris was put in the pipe bowl. Prior to that corncobs suffered from regular burnout, and the dried plaster had a hardening effect on the bowl, making it more solid to be turned on a lathe.

So if you have some corncob pipes that you are especially fond of, be sure to bring, tell us about them, and smoke them!
In other news, the Pipe show in Vegas is taking place in October.

Make sure you check back on the "room hopping" tab to see if it is something you would like to participate in, it is a lot of fun...check that tab periodically as it will be updated with new rooms added. If there is a chance that you are going and you intend to stay at the hotel, you might want to book a room now to lock in the rate. (Be sure to look at the cancellation policy before hitting "submit"...in the past you could cancel 24 hours in advance for a full refund if your plans are disrupted)
I am flying to the show, because no one will pay me to drive, and I just don't drive for pleasure anymore
With the price of fuel being what it is, if pipe club members want to share a ride with others, feel free to reach out privately, or give a shout out publicly of your desire to do so. It might even make sense to rent a van and split the cost...this is all something that can be discussed at the pipe club meeting. And if there is any interest in renting a shared table at the show to sell pipes, pipe tobacco, or anything else, we can discuss that also, but that would require anyone doing so with others to share manning the table.
