Not only that. With about 28mm at its widest for the outer diameter, there's no way these pipes will smoke cool.

All the Peterson churchwardens, tankards, etc are too tiny. I've noticed that many church wardens have tiny bowls. Is that a thing? Seems to be. I have 3, and only the Craftsman has a bowl big enough to be worth the trouble. Some of the French pipes, and Stanwell make larger ones but the trend seems to be tiny. With THE LOTR influence we've seen a few really large, long stemed pipes.

Some of the French pipes, and Stanwell make larger ones but the trend seems to be tiny. With THE LOTR influence we've seen a few really large, long stemed pipes. I've seen the LOTR pipes on display in a B & M, and they're pretty big. I don't think the stem is meant to be clenched (it's round) and they're also fairly heavy. And they're all 9mm filters, so I had to pass.
