sounds crazy to guys like us, but kids these days pay twice that much and don't bat an eye. I remember when 75 bucks was rent money! Kids don't know the value of a hundred dollars! 😁 True enough Plus, in my case, if you gave me a hundred dollars, I'd look for two hundred dollars' worth of half priced items ...I grew up trying to make every dollar go as far as it could. money comes easier these days, I guess .

Welcome to the Boomer Hour! Minimum wage is the same, but everything costs a nickel. Now you kids get off my lawn. And take your purple hair and avocado toast with you!

When you're right, you're right. But this is the only place I still feel young. Also, fun fact: my sneakers cost amortizes over two years to $0.0548/day, or about a nickel. Less if I count their reassignment as yardwork kicks in the future. [Winks and taps temple knowingly with forefinger]

There's my problem. They're Skechers. They were a little before my time, but I think P. F. Flyers made a comeback, or tried to, a few years back. I remember Red Ball Jets, US Keds, and later Converse. PF Flyers was probably in there, too. These days, I don't seem to wear ....um.....tennis shoes (what we called 'em) much anymore.
