Is it just me, or do the first few puffs on the first pipe of the day make you a little dizzy? It's no big deal -- it goes away after a few minutes -- and it doesn't bother me too much, but I was wondering if that happens to anyone else.

Not enough nicotine in a pipe to phase me like that though I've heard that chocolate can alleviate the issue.

Are you eating a good breakfast before you start smoking? Nicotine tolerance levels are different for every individual and for many folks it's essentially a requirement to eat a solid meal before ingesting morning nicotine. It's recommended.

If my first bowl was Old Joe Krantz before breakfast I might get a little buzz, but not usually.

I never have time to smoke early in the day. Sounds like you probably just need to eat a bite, first.

This seems odd to me, unless you rarely smoke. You're not getting much nicotine in the first few puffs. IANAD, but I'd keep an eye on my blood pressure.
I got quite wobbly starting my day with Brown Rope on an empty stomach once. I felt great at first, then much less so. Lesson learned. Eat.

Do you inhale? When I smoked ciggs, the first puffs in the morning would leave me dizzy...my heart doctor explained that it was the blood vessels around my heart constricting...I gave up the ciggs about an hour after my heart attack, but the pipe has never had that effect on me. I don't inhale pipe smoke.

Actually, I always smoke after breakfast, not before. In all fairness, it's usually a high-octane burley. Today it was Haunted Bookshop.

I got hold of some dry, twist tobacco; the kind that looks like a loop of rope. It wasn't pleasant. I palmed that stuff onto someone else as fast as I could.

Depends on the tobacco, I think.
