Living alone is the key to blissful sartorial independence. And occasional rebellion thrown in there for fun… Like when I wear my Royal Irish Regiment Boer War pith helmet in the summer. and the Kaffirs quake. Alternatively,

I'm staying in tonight, so it's ballet flats, yellow bib rain pants, a cable-knit sweater, and a greasy Peterbilt cap. Silver elephant stud earrings.

An ancient Woolrich shirt jacket not made any more. A Chambray work shirt, Key bib overalls, diabetic socks and ancient moccasins.
I am the very picture of a rural American.

see it's 72 now, cleanish lounge around house rags. Thin Haband drawstring pants, long sleeve tee, thinest socks/house shoes, pocket vest. Seldom that anybody stops by, champion of the un-fashion "police"

Chilly this morning in the house. No fire in the stove overnight. So, a wool balaclava, wool jackshirt from Woolrcich over cotton flannel shirt, flannel lounge pants aka jammies, clogs on feet.

Our central heating is out again. I called the repairman last week and they got here this morning. Need to order a new gas valve. I fired up the gas fireplace for the first time since March. I ordered a Woolrich shirt Jac after reading your previous post. Ebay, 5.50 for a REALLY UGLY thing and 16 bucks shipping. But I get cold in my old age.

Clean Haband rags to hit grocery store for few items. Brunch with the "dirty old gals" after. As most know, in their place, their rules, only socks/slippers allowed!
Ed Duncan, Batavia, NY we are old, mostly droopy but still have lotsa fun!

Woolrich used to make great wool shirts and shirt-Jacs when they were a USA based real company. Now they are just a brand of Chinese junk. If you found one of their old wool garments, you are in luck as it will serve well for a long time. YEs, their old shirt jacks with capes and large plaid were quite homely. I used to wear them all the time from about 18 to 21. Along with a wool watch cap I must have appeared about as un-groovy as a young man could be back in 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972. A girl I knew remarked that I always looked as though I had just cut down a tree or killed a deer. That did not jibe with the refinement which was in style back then. LOL! Of course, I should have been in Camo but was classified 4-F.

I have the Mackinaw jacket and cap that I got last year and they are American wool.

quite clean Haband rags top to bottom at present, shower yesterday. Full rainsuit handy if have to be outside for any length of time, hopefully doubtful. Just basic grays, blacks, dark blues. Time for EMILY to step up puleeze...maybe some bright colors on what here near Buffalo, NY is two days of gloomy weather.

You rang? Casual day: black-and-white saddles with red knee socks, brown Franciscan habit with cowl and rope cincture, beaded turtle dangly earrings, and purple shower cap. OK, only two of those things are true.
ETA: OK, OK, I do own all but one of those things. I'll leave that as an exercise for the reader.
