I have been in a pipe rut, smoking the same few over and over again, so I decided to break in some new pipes over the next week or two, but I thought for today for fun and a change I would get out an antique. I’m smoking HH Pure Virginia Flake in a 1912 English made calabash.

It’s a beauty, Ted, and that brand has an interesting history, the son of Mary went on to found Grabow. pipedia.org/wiki/M._Linkman_%26_Co. Weird… An M Linkman pipe company search on Google brings up the pipedia page, a copy and paste of that link gives a dead end. A pretty lengthy article, very interesting. Thanks, that’s cool. I never bothered to research the maker. I like hearing the connection to Grabow.

I thought I had an open tin/jar of Plum Pudding, but apparently not, so that Joe Lankford memorial smoke will have to wait. I'm having some Night Train from 2009 that Emily terrapinflyer sent me a while back. Smoking it in a Radice billiard:

Rad Davis sure knows how to turn a chunk of wood into a thing of beauty. I never knew that he was an understudy of Mark Tinsky. pipedia.org/wiki/Davis,_Rad Pipedia pages seem to suck at linking on forums these days!
