What a loss. I’m Irish, but even so, she was a good ol’ gal.

She was a great monarch for the British people and an inspiration for the world on duty and fidelity.
May she rest in peace alongside all those others who wore the Crown of Britain.
Long Live King Charles III! He will be a good king. He certainly waited long enough.

I heard the next king will be Charles.
Waiting for the phone call. Boy, howdy!
So many around her had serious flaws, she pretty much defined class in a fallen world. Thinking of her close relationship with Billy Graham over decades that far outshadowed any of our former presidents, tells me that her eye was on the prize... that really matters.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for that call, Charlie. There has been speculation that she would abdicate in favor of Charles. I never believed that. I think her memories of the turmoil and bitterness of Edward’s abdication cemented in her a feeling that monarchs should die under the crown and not be shirkers. There has also been talk that Charles may quickly abdicate in favor of William. I don’t think that will happen either. I think Charles WANTS to be king. He’s led a charmed/curséd life and now he gets the dreadful reward. Lots of people think he is a proper prat, but I think he’s going to give it a good try. He certainly has a good model in his mum.

To your credit, Bob you are more optimistic than I am.
If you don’t have your sh!t together by a certain age you never will, as a married man horndoggimg it with someone else’s wife especially in them circles says a lot about one’s character. And the alliances that he has cultivated tells me that he is an elitist bonehead.
But miracles can happen.

Can’t disagree with you, Charlie, but I am hoping. England really needs a steady, wise king now. I hope he is the man for the job. I just wish I had more confidence that “wise” fits him.

Yeah, and people pay princely sums to send their kids off to be educated by an imbecile like this. Talk about generations getting Fu&@%d over, this piece of garbage needs to look in the mirror.

I certainly agree Charles deserves support. I will be curious to see what course he sets freed from the old Queen's influence. Will he be a a tradionalist or will he adapt the monarchy to the times? The one thing I know about him with certainty is he prefers French cheeses to English. Does that portend an invasion of Normandy? Stayed tuned.... George VI did not have as far to come as Hal, a boisterous rebel and free spirit. George did not want the job but accepted his responsibility with grace.

So Charlie, when are we going to invade and conquer Wisconsin? It could be done with a naval attack through Lake Superior. When your navy realizes they've just landed in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, they could stop and ask for directions to Wisconsin and have some pasties and smoked whitefish.

She had a long reign and her reputation probably the finest among the royal family there. England could have benefited from another 100 years of Elizabeth II.
