Anyone using Upside or other cash-back apps for gas with success? With the amount of travel / commuting I do now, it seems like something that would be useful. Thanks!

I have no info, I'm just here to follow. My new position at work = tons of driving.

I have Shell, Phillips, and Murphy's apps, but the savings are way down from last year. Best I ever get is 3 cents.

I get up to 30 cents per gallon off at Smith's Supermarket. That assumes consumption of mass quantities of comestibles!

I get up to 30 cents per gallon off at Smith's Supermarket. That assumes consumption of mass quantities of comestibles! When we had Kroger we got up to a dollar off. The Brookshires grocery store app would save us 30 cents a gallon but the closest station is 50 miles away. I paid $3.25/gallon for my last tank with no discount at Cefco.

I like to use the gas buddy app, it is pretty accurate as to the local pricing, and on the road. They offer a gas buddy card that is linked to your debit account, I would use it if I travelled far, but I only go five miles to work, maximum of 3 days per week. www.gasbuddy.com/pay. Costco and Sam’s Club generally have the best prices and are close, so that is how we roll.

The best gas price in central Illinois is Sam's Club. I paid $3.50/gal ~2 weeks/10 days ago. Everyone else in town was a bit higher by ~20 cents or more.

Thanks for the feedback. It looks like Upside is the winner here. Use any card you want, not just a proprietary debit, and save on groceries / restaurants too. I'm going to give it a whirl.
