I'm going to guess you've never seen a Boswell magnum. Why would you guess that? Just because it's much larger that the one from SPC.

Yowza. Guess a man could relight it with a bbq grill lighter, but good luck getting it packed well in the first place.

My largest meerschaum pipe. For size reference I wear XXL size gloves and the pipe is 26 inches long.

Ardor, 253 grams Challenge accepted!🤣 All things considered though, now this is the smallest pipe in the thread.
Plainsman That Bill Shalosky pipe was a really nice chimney pipe. I'd love a pipe like that. Did you see how much it sold for?
And I'm really drooling over Brad's massive Ardor.

It looks like you triggered a pipe measuring thread, Bob. From the original listing: At 61 grams with the tall chimney I doubt it. It looks like a pipe you could smoke while snorkeling if you didn't need the oxygen. Even if it was a great smoker, I wouldn't smoke it outside of the house.

That is one deep pipe. I'm not sure the tamper would even get to the bottom. Which leads me to question - is a taller, chimney-style pipe, a better smoke than a wider bowl? I'm assuming, with a wider bowl, you'll get more smoke at the one time (provided the whole surface of the tobacco is lit). The chimney would give less smoke for longer.

They can be hard to load just right. They will concentrate the flavor but it might be too much by the time you get to the bottom of the bowl. I have several stacks that I don't smoke often.

I'd say there might be a bit more dottle than the average pipe.

The general opinion seems to be that tall and thin works better for Virginia-dominated blends, and wide works better for more English/Balkan blends.

These giants must hold almost a whole tin, I could never smoke the same blend in the same pipe that long.
I especially like Bradleys as it would make a great sap to knock out some douchebag. In fact Bradley go to your local bar and goad someone into taking a shot at you and then pull out your war hammer. I would pay good money to see that.
