Picked all my Kubocha squash today. I was hoping for more. Damned squirrels kept stealing them until they got about tennis ball sized. I must have lost three times this to the little devils.

Had to look it up, wasn't familiar with the variety. Sounds tasy.

It is a very rich tasting squash. It has become our favorite winter variety.

Nice batch. Is there anything you can do to stop the squirrels?

Nice haul! Those are some of my favorites as well. Got to let us know how you prefer to prepare them! I like them (and most other squash) just cooked up with some butter. I have also halved them and filled with pizza toppings and cooked on the grill. Takes a while but the flesh of the squash is so delicious as a crust. Also a good way to get kiddos to eat it.

Nice batch. Is there anything you can do to stop the squirrels? I will come up with something before next year. I could shoot them, but prefer not to. They are enjoyable in the landscape and the dogs love chasing them out of the yard. We used to have a Brittany that actually managed to kill a couple. Rusty was quite the hunter. Our two current dogs wouldn’t know what to do if they did catch one.😉

I read that as "kombucha." Yuck. But the squash is yummy. I like my acorns, too. Halved, scooped out, with butter and nutmeg. Nana grew a lot of varieties of winter squash, so I developed a taste for them early.
