With the upcoming holidays, I have added an "I Want". Just getting the word out now so there is no confusion later on. One of these, please. Wisely chambered in .38 Super so our amigos south of the border may legally own one.

So there is no misunderstanding, I am not a "fan" of Pancho Villa. He is a notable figure in the southwest USA and northern Mexico. He is in that same group as King John, Richard III and most of the Borgias.

I went ahead and pre ordered one. At $3,000, a little steep for me but as a gift, I do not mind. Just saying.....

Anyway, I thought it was nicely done. Yes, it is overpriced for many of us.

For some reason I can't see it. I have in my head an image of a very sparkly diamond-encrusted pistol. Merry Christmas toshtego.

OK. To each his own. You guys can have the bling. Enjoy! I’ll take a “working gun” any day. Those commems usually wind up as Safe Queens and never shot. No room in my safes for such decorations.

Those commemorative pistols often end up in someone's office or den in a display case. A subject of conversation to break the ice in meetings? A political statement ment for the like minded? Maybe we just like having a Model 1911 Colt to look at?

Maybe we just like having a Model 1911 Colt to look at? If I had one I would shoot it. They usually don't hold their value. I keep looking at the Canadian Commemorative model 94s. I've always wanted a 30-30 with a 24 inch barrel. Maybe I would even hunt again.

Doesn’t Henry make a 24” 30-30?
Later… I guess not. But the “original Henry” model they make comes in 45 Colt with a 24.5” bbl. That would be my choice over the 30-30. As long as you’re hunting deer under 100Y. The 45 Colt is an awesome cartridge for deer, within its range.

A Teddy Roosevelt Commemorative and a NRA Centennial Musket. Both are NIB, $1200. It would be hard to decide, but probably the TR.

That was one sweet shooting rifle. The 26 inch barrel seemed to make a difference. Perhaps it was just that it fitted me well and I had confidence in it? If you can find one, buy it!

No, for some reason I can now see the images. Not sure what happened earlier - must have been an issue with the hosting server. toshtego, that's a beautiful pistol.

That particular forum I was once a regular poster. I hotlinked a picture and a story on that forum, and a sleazy lawyer that had cut deals with many companies like Las Vegas review and urinal gave them the power to go after websites and contributors. Jason the owner and I were sued for 250K. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RighthavenThe owner allowed me to fall under his defense, and he settled with Righthaven out of court, and I agreed not to disclose the sum...it was chump change by comparison of what the sleazeball demanded, but that was how they did their bottom feeding. The owner of the website then banned me for life, for the same thing scores of others did on the forum, I just happened to be the lucky guy. The funny thing is that they hired a retired cop locally to serve me papers, he tried like hell and never succeeded, thanks in large part to my cop buddy/neighbor helping out. No loss on my part...being a member over there.
