I thought this was a very cool story. I'm fascinated by mind-body medicine, as I suffer from a couple chronic degenerative conditions and have made remarkable progress using non-drug, non-surgical techniques. Also, I had a fairly life changing experience at one of many String Cheese Incidents. I was fairly newly sober, past the shaking but still craving and stuck in awful anhedonia, surrounded by beer guzzlers, convinced I'd never know happiness again. Lights coming on and sun going down over the harbor, Mauna Bowa and San Jose, grooving and suddenly smiling through tears of joy! It's still a bit of a touchstone when I need a little centering. But I digress. This is a good read. www.outsideonline.com/outdoor-adventure/exploration-survival/psychedelics-research-paralysis-treatment-jim-harris/

Great read and inspiring stories! The current research in, especially, micro-dosing is incredible and long overdue.

Sadly, big pharma has their fingers into the pie of healthcare and dismissive of anything that is natural because it does not line their pockets.
Not to get political, but pay attention to who is sucking on the teat of big pharma when you vote. Birds of a feather is not just a MacBaren release.

Because THEY don't want you to know. Just kidding; no conspiracy. Just good old avarice and corruption. Pay legislators to criminalize natural substances for some concocted moral good. Develop possibly inferior ones you can patent. Pay legislators to quash price gouging rules. Call it a fReE mArKet and profit while everybody suffers.
But they'll never take my hypnosis away. Just kidding again. They will as soon as someone can monetize it.

Just kidding again. They will as soon as someone can monetize it. We have to pay for hypnosis over here. I paid to learn from a hypnotherapist. Now that I have the tools, I can get into trance and do the inner work myself. It takes a fair amount of creativity and willingness. And these days you can probably learn to trance from YouTube. Or at least do guided meditation for stress relief. I'm absolutely not into woo or New Age stuff, but the human mind has enormous untapped potential that Western medicine is just beginning to explore. Eastern philosophies have at least been aware of some of this for millenia. Yes, I practice yoga as well. No, I don't believe in the Hindu pantheon.

I didn't believe in hypnosis until I was in Psyc 101 and on the last day of class, the professor introduced her boyfriend who then proceeded to hypnotize the entire class. Next thing we knew the 2 hour class was over. We exited the room very sheepishly. I've found that a small dose of psychedelics can have a long term benifit in attitude.

I've seen great results from hypnosis and like the idea of doing it myself. I don't like the idea of letting someone else into my head to screw me up even more.
