I have some fine tobacco that is very dry. Can I use a minute amount of distilled water toss the tobacco in the water and store it in a Mason jar? Thanks.

I quite like my tobacco dry. If it's too dry, what I do is fill the pipe and then blow down the bowl a few times. The moist air from my breath tends to do the trick.
As for your question, I'm not sure - others will jump in and help.

Paul, that method will work but I like to put the tobacco in a bowl and cover it with a damp towel. Something else that will work is put a Tobacco Pouch Humidifier in the the Mason jar, seal it and check back in about a week.

My two-cents, if you wet the tobacco directly you can end up with mold. It's best to be a little less direct like others suggested.

Here it's 43/73% outside and 70/54% indoors. your house is probably much better sealed than ours. It would cost over $10k to replace the windows and I don't think that we will live long enough to get it back. There aren't any of the companies that specialize in weatherizing homes in 200 miles of us.
