Thank you, sir.
My family is scattered, lots of health and other problems, so it'll be different for us all this year. We'll make the best of it and I hope all the Patch denizens stay safe, well, and happy.

Have a good holiday everyone! Daughter came down with a fever this afternoon, so we’ll see if our holiday actually manifests. I won’t be upset if it gets delayed.

Kinda low key here, a few family members. Smoking a 17 lb. Turkey, pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, fresh dinner rolls. Half dozen other dishes in the works… The family faced some storms this year, but we are blessed, and that is the theme to be focused upon. Time for me to polish the lap pipes going into the season. Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

First in a long time all my 3 children come together. Cajuns ysually don’t follow the Turkey thing, my kids like pork roast , their momma makes a killer natural gravy, so 3 pork roasts, seafood casserole with eggplant, crabmeat and shrimp. Smithfield ham, fried shrimp, for the grandaughter, red beans and sasuage for the grandson, Chinese noodles with chocolate made into a hard candy, Mississippi Mud also, and a Collins Bakery fruitcake. Hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving.

We will be keeping it very low-key as well this year, as one daughter has to work and another will be celebrating with BF's family. Nothing wrong with that. I hope everyone has a good holiday.

I care for my fellow man, support an orphanage in Kenya with a substantial monthly donation.
But… tonight, the on the newscast of the local food bank telling us that it is the neediest time of year, and donations are sorely needed.
Then they pan the camera to the cars in line, very expensive SUV’s, cowboy Cadillac pickup trucks, BMW’s, Caddy CTS…all you do is pull up in line, no questions asked, pop your trunk and the volunteers load you up.
The old saying “charity starts at home” is a misnomer nowadays, I know that my giving goes to the truly needy how I route it.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. Mine depends on if I have the little ones or not. If so, family feast. If not, I'll be working, like usual.

The neighbors who usually invite me to Thanksgiving apparently modified their guest list and I am no longer on it. LOL! It seems he sold part of his property for $1,000,000 and is feeling terrible important now. Thus, a better class of invitees is now called for!
I was planning on dining alone that night. Marie Calendar Turkey Pot Pie would suffice.
My Ex invited me to join her and her partner for dinner. That was nice of them and I am grateful for the invitation. I like them both.

Regardless of where you are at Josh on thanksgiving, You will be in our thoughts bud. This is just a point in time, do the right thing, and you can build on the memories in the days ahead.

T’Giving at my place… ‘Tis a thing of beauty! A buddy of mine went hunting turkeys with a bow one year, a clean shot he went to get his obviously dead bird. “As I went up to the turkey he came alive and with his spur opened my carhart jacket, had I not had that jacket on, I would have been gutted. From here on out, it is a round to the head, and no more hunting alone.”

I called a neighbor and a friend and left him a message of good cheer for the Thanksgiving Holiday. He called back and left a message: "I guess if you really need somewhere to go tomorrow, you can go to Michael and Sarah's house. That is where I am going. I am sure they would be ok with that". Like I am going to show up at someone's door uninvited on a holiday? The things people say to one and another... Anyway, for the rest of you Patchers. Enjoy the day, even if you spend it alone. I certainly have over the decades and will likely do again.

Had you not shown up last year with a sock full of quarters swinging them around uncle John, it would probably be different. Wild Turkey was never meant to be a side dish to tryptophan.

OK, for real, someone just posted in a group for my city: guy questions legality of his neighbor taking a wild turkey in his own backyard with a crossbow within city limits..because his neighbor just did, but didn't get a kill...he and his neighbor have tracked this wounded bird to a third neighbor's yard and are awaiting the return of third neighbor so they can find the bird.
I assume there's some Kickin' Chicken 101 involved.

Spending the day alone t’row. By choice. But really— not alone: Eli and Jack will enjoy a special “holiday meal” as they always do on these days. I hope everyone here has a wonderful day of thankfulness for all the blessings we enjoy. One of which is the Patch.
