Spending the day alone tārow. By choice. But reallyā not alone: Eli and Jack will enjoy a special āholiday mealā as they always do on these days. I hope everyone here has a wonderful day of thankfulness for all the blessings we enjoy. One of which is the Patch. I wish you a great and happy Thanksgiving, Bob. Many of them have I spent alone either by chance or simply by fortune.

I never had wild Turkey (the bird), it would be fun to taste one along side a farm turkey.
Years ago, a church member gave me a farm raised turkey, the bird was massive! On the lowest rack in the oven the breast almost scraped the top. And we had a cheap oven that was not honest on temp declaration, (and I was a novice). All of the outer of the bird was fine, but the innards was bloody. In hindsight, I should have had the proās at the local bbq joint do it up for me.
Fast forward a few years later, my skills had improved and I had a decent smoker/ grill. Smoke/ indirect roasted a Turkey with a lot of herbed butter between the skin and meat. I lifted it from the grill with the crackling of the butter, and as I hoisted it to the pan, the carcass cracked and the sizzling butter fell onto the top of my foot and the skin on the top of my foot washed to the ground. My son saw it all happen and about lost his lunch.
My processes on smoking turkey have been vastly improvedā¦ hotfooting it aināt cool!
But the Turkey was excellent.
