It's the holidays and USPS is at it again. Sending Black Friday orders everywhere except where they are supposed to be. Bought some cigars at SPC and USPS sent the cigars to Rocky Mount,NC which is 35 miles from where I live, only to have them sent the package to Kitty Hawk, NC which is 400 miles from where I live. Another order waiting to be "accepted" by USPS, somewhere in limbo. I expect a rough holiday season. Anyone else have problems?

It’s all this network of “regional facilities.” Yesterday I got delivery of a small package I had ordered on 11/25. It started in Ooltewah, TN. Then Chattanooga, Knoxville, St Louis, Kansas City, Omaha, North Platte, then my local PO. It’s a wonder that things get delivered at all.

Heck, you guys are getting all that free shipping tacked on, and you aren’t paying a dime more for it!

I’m not complaining. I’ve had pretty good luck. I don’t think 11/25 to 11/29 is all that bad. Usually that same shipment takes only from Friday to Monday. Pretty good I’d say.

I had a set of cornhole bags that came from California UPS to Toledo then USPS to me. It took a day to Toledo and a week from Toledo to me. Whenever I place a P&C order I try to get a parts order in at the same time. The UPS driver will drop the P&C order off with my parts instead of dropping it at the post office.

Ah, the joys of modern logistics. Gotta love that tracking number, though.

Yep, when they shut down tons of local facilities because of $$......... USPS is still great to us. When we were business owners in Asheville for 36 years and shipped everyday Fedex & Ups, USPS showed up way more often than the other 2 mentioned in snow & ice problems. I have no bitch about them. They all partner now.

We get our deliveries from UPS, USPS and FEDEX regularly and on time with very few exceptions. We have regular delivery people and we give them Christmas gifts.

I've had a package "pending acceptance" for 3 days now.
I'm rarely happy with USPS at any time of the year.

I've had a package from P&C that was handed off to USPS and sitting in "pending acceptance" at my local post office since Friday at noon. It's all the holiday orders there are tons of people ordering presents this time of year.

It always makes me nervous when it doesn't move through there in a timely manner.

Son left some stuff from Thanksgiving visit, he phoned and during the talk advised useing USPS, told him I’ve better luck with UPS, WIFE had UPS box it, put his Christmas present in it, value about 400$, insured it for 800$, if lost better over than under, he got it in from Lafayette to Odem Texas in 2 days, his Christmas wasn’t a surprise but I knew what he wanted, I’m in the short catagorey UPS has almost always done right by me.

Doesn't 'pending acceptance' mean the retailer hasn't actually dropped it at the post office yet? Retailers do assign their own postage and tracking to parcels before actually taking therm to a post office. Some retailers only go to the post 2x per week.

I have much trouble with UPS as they have not hired a regular route driver after Tony retired in 2019. Their fill in drivers come from Santa Fe Terminal and cannot find their way in rural northern New Mexico. So, it is a problem getting packages some of the time. The Post Office is the most reliable here. Why? because drivers can find the dang building.

When I lived up-country manys the time the UPS driver would find me in town, at the barber, the café, the mini-market, and hand over my package. He knew all the ranch vehicles and looked for them as he delivered in town. If he couldn’t find me, and I was the only one up there with a delivery, he would make the 65-mile r/t to hand it over— never a complaint. Unlike FedEx that always called and asked if they could leave my package somewhere in town. Postie was also great: offering to pick up groceries if I needed them and bring them up with the mail (which I only got three days a week). It all depends on the people doing the job.

Most people are no like that here. Old Tony, the former route driver, was that way. If Tony was handed a package with just a local resident's name on it and no address. he would have no trouble delivering it.

It said it was at the facility and pending acceptance. But I just check and within the last 30 minutes it changed from that to "Departed Jacksonville, FL." It's a busy time of year, so it probably didn't get scanned right. Either way, I get worried when my packages hit Chicago. It's the only place I've had packages go missing.

My package was delivered to my front door/porch today at 6:47pm... according to my mail persons scanning. The funny part about that is, I was on the front porch smoking a pipe for the last hour. Not only is there no package, there was no mail person or vehicle at that time.
I hate how you have to go through so much to even email the USPS. After searching through the whole website, and filling out their stupid forms, only to be redirected elsewhere, I gave up.
Maybe they'll deliver it Monday. I'm still filing a complaint.
Considered it's been "delivered" and they still have it, isn't that technically theft?

I'm not mad that it's not here today. I get it, things get delayed and who wants to work late on a Saturday?
I'm just pissed that they scanned it delivered. It's not the first time. More like the 10th.
