Meanwhile, at the Radison Hotel located at Berlin, Germany's Alexandertplatz, the world's largest aquarium collapsed sending 1,500 tropical fish into the cold street. Yes, the 260,000+ gallon fish tank, which once stood fifty feet tall, in the central atrium of the hotel. Considered the greatest German tragedy of recent times by many, the 1,500 fish spilled out the lobby onto the street before dawn. The 19-degree Fahrenheit temperature complicating rescue attempts and hampering cleanup. Proving German engineering is not infallible.

AN interesting addition to the hotel atrium, that fish tank. Must have brought numerous visitors to the hotel. I do not wonder it affected their occupancy and room rates, especially when it collapsed.

I do not wonder it affected their occupancy and room rates, especially when it collapsed. They said that guests heard a rumble at 5:30 am. The ones that looked out were confused because they could see across the atrium. I would have gone back to bed and pulled the covers over my head.

I say it was the Russians, but my son has his money on the Ukrainians.

I say it was the Russians, but my son has his money on the Ukrainians. I had not considered sabotage. Gremlins form the Kremlin are always a possibility in der alte Deutschland. Ivans are just too dang close!

Never thought of killing fish as a political statement. He'll forever be known as the reluctant saboteur. However my money is on weakness in the structure. Probably manufactured by Mercedes.

Did some checking, a US based company called Reynolds Polymer Technology made the panels 20 years ago.

Someone should round up the local stray cats for questioning.

The wife said she heard some of the fish were 10 grand apiece.

Someone should round up the local stray cats for questioning. The Usual Suspects? Twice the number.

Waking up to the sound of Ellen DeGeneres next to me would, indeed, come as a surprise.

I wonder if the management believed the aquarium would help occupancy and room rates?
Large investment with substantial operating cost and now, cleanup.
