Both solid groups.
It would be nice to see them merge and be a force multiplier, but I am not in a position to second guess, it might be good to have separate entities doing what is right.

I'm also a member of the Jews For Preservation Of Firearm Ownership. I don't know if they make a difference, but I do like their commitment and style. They mostly publish pamphlets aimed at teaching the children about Second Amendment in relation to the history of the Jews.

Yeah the JFPO is indeed a great organization. I know Charles Heller, Alan Korwin, and Alan Gottlieb… Gottlieb heads up the SAF, Charles also was the founder of Arizona Citizen’s Defense League, and Korwin has always done a lot for the AZCDL.
One time I won an AR from the AZCDL, and Charles told me “Well you know, some people re-gift the prize back so we can maximize fund raising”
I know what he was saying, it had merit, but I already worked a trade for a new ACOG for my Colt LE 6920 SOCOM. That was a guilty feeling win.

The JFPO is indeed an excellent organization. It’s on my Support List. Might have been nice if Warsaw had had a branch back in the day. I can never manage to wrap my understanding around how a Jew could be for disarming a populace. (You listening Dianne and Chucky?)

Had they lived in the Warsaw Ghetto, they would be better public servants. It did not affect them, so therefore the issue is inconsequential.

Yo hun - welcome from Chester County, across the state line. Elkton,MD has Spartan Cigar Lounge, with a smattering of pipe stuff. Belair, MD can't be far from you. They have Main Street Cigar, which has a serious amount of pipes and tins.

For the sake of our new member, let's get this thread back on track, please. Thank you. Since you're (original poster not Legend Lover who is in Ireland😉) in Maryland… if you're not far from DC, there are: Georgetown Tobacco gttobacco.com/W. Curtis Draper Tobacconist wcurtisdraper.comAlso, around northern Va, there is a small chain called Old Virginia Tobacco Co. www.ovtc.comI’ve never been to either of these places in person, yet. My wife and I are planning a vacation to DC in a month and a half and I’ve been doing some research. Georgetown Tobacco is fairly well known. Curtis Draper has been around for a long time and is near the White House.

Thanks, I'm sure there are Good B & M tobacco shops in D.C. and Baltimore. But I stay out of those crime ridden Chit holes. The second store scares me the most, near the white house, lol. Thank you.

I don't meet too many pipe smokers here. An older fellow said hi to me the other day and said he also smoked a pipe, but before my mind registered it, he was already out the door. Too many scotches I think. The lounge here at the casino would be such a great place to meet up. It's mostly empty most of the time. The only "Tobacco" stores in town are head shops. Sure, they have bagged tobacco and an assortment of pipes, that I think are made in China. Never heard of the pipe brand. In a fancy display case and everything. Would much rather see Dr. Grabow. Mentioned it to them once and also about the tobacco, but they haven't changed a thing. I guess the homeless can buy the tobacco and use it as ROY.

Get me started on the decline of the old-time tobacco shop, next thing you know I'll be rambling on about the end of civilization, tying an onion to my belt, and going out to yell at clouds.
When I came to Chicago 50 years ago, there were at least three major tobacconists downtown: Iwan Ries, Dunhill on Michigan Avenue, and Cellini. Now only Iwan Ries remains, luckily still living up to its old traditions. In downtown Evanston, near Northwestern University, Evanston Pipe & Tobacco Shop used to sell a fair range of pipe tobacco, including a very deep and varied stock of McClelland; that shop suffered a tragic end when the two brothers who owned it were murdered in 2013. There was a tobacconist in Skokie, on my way home from work, from whom I bought lots of Cornell & Diehl tins, many accessories, and a pipe or two ten to fifteen years ago; last time I visited it was pretty much a cigar lounge, and now I'm not sure it's even that. O tempora, o mores, dagnabbit.
We do still have a store in Arlington Heights, Arlington Pipe & Cigar, that has bucked the trend by expanding and becoming even more pipe-friendly in the last few years. And Iwan Ries still seems to be going strong. So I have those options when time and travels permit, and I'm glad of them, but most of my tobacco buying is online these days.

It is really a shame that a young person cannot stroll through a mall and feel the enchantment of a Tinderbox store wafting out incredible smells.
Now it is all about how stoned someone can get by some skunk weed when the brain is not fully developed.

I have heard of a few instances where a smoke shop had transitioned from a bona fide tobacco shop into a "smoke shop". I know of two instances where a person held out a tin and asked do you have any tobacco like this? The clerk went in back and brought out "some old stuff that we had a hard time moving", one of them individuals got a boatload of unobtainium blends at giveaway prices, among it some old Balkan Sobranie and Bells three nuns.
Always good to ask...and have a tin to help them understand what you are looking for.
