Hi, Where I live in Maryland, near the Delaware border there are no good tobacco stores near me. I have 4 close buy , but there all head shops for pot and hooksa. They do not carry anything for pipe smoking, not even tobacco. There is one in Delaware but there carrying less and less pipes and pipe tobacco. I mostly buy online, but there is nothing like a stroll in a B & M store.Anyone know of a good tobacco none head shop in the Newark Delaware are and Wilmington DE. Thank you.

smokingpipes.com pipesandcigars.com tobaccopipes.com I'm fortunate enough to have a few real brick and mortar tobacconists in my city that have been here since the 1800s, but even then, they don't carry enough pipe tobacco that I want.
And welcome to The Briar Patch.

Not my area and there aren’t any shops left where I live either, but I prefer to order from some of the remaining small business classic tobacco shops when I can to support the last ones left:

I roll through the Navajo nation regularly, stopped by the TeePee trading post, and along with all of the great products, their humidor is well stocked, pipe tobacco offerings are second to none, and they have snuff, plug and loose leaf chew. Pipe tobacco offerings are remarkable. The staff members are really cool. The older Navajo gal working there told me that Red Man tobacco changing their name so as to not offend native Americans is quite the joke… white man guilt she told me! Picked up some plugs of Days of Work chewing tobacco, really good stuff. They don’t list stock on the website, but if anyone is in the hood, I recommend it… near Arizona stateline just east of Gallup NM on the I-40. tptradingpost.com/

adding greets/welcome from 50miles East of Buffalo, NY. Closest real B&M over an hour from me. Nice traditional shop, but NY tobacco tax, at 75%...would only buy sundries (cleaners etc) from any. The online places listed have used for years, all good
cheers Ed Duncan, 81 Batavia, NY

One of our pipe club members bought some stuff from these guys, part of the Seneca nation. smokes-spirits.com/Being a sovereign nation, I am not sure if they don’t have to pay the usual taxes of white-eyes. Just checked, 73 miles from Batavia.

We now only have one, in Belfast. It's OK, but the staff are not the most friendly or polite people, so it's very off-putting to visit.

Welcome from NE Ohio. I have a couple cigar shops around that have pipe tobacco mostly Lane and Sutliff bulks. My pipe club meets in Pittsburgh and the shop there has a wide range of pipes and tobacco's. Their bulks are SG, Petersons old Dunhill blends along with Lane and Sutliff. The tins are constantly changing with nice variety and a wide selection of Esoterica. The only drawback is the cost, and average tin is $26.00 with tax but I always pick up 2 when I visit and buy at least one new pipe a year off them. On top of their selection the thing that makes it a great place is the staff. Great people that know their stuff with pipes and cigars.

I have never understood why a retail shop has that kind of attitude. And that is not just characteristic of your side of the world, padre. I have heard of too many instances stateside where a new smoker be-bops into a store, only to be snarled at by the people their that think you invaded their space. Seems like a foul business model, that is intended to close your doors for good if you want to shut the door on repeat business...and with the online reviews, you are handing off the knife to cut your throat. I just don't get it.

That is a high price for a tin, we do not see much like that in Arizona...(yet), but good on you, just as Arizona sucks to smoke outside in the summer, I reckon Pittsburgh can have tough winters. Nice to have accommodations, and that is a price in the equation of it all.

I just don't get it. Me neither - it beggars belief. Maybe they think that the old codgers will come for their tobacco regardless, as there's nowhere else to get it except online - and perhaps many of them might not be terribly au fait with ordering online. With respect to other stores - I've really no idea.

This “attitude” thing with stores is a mystery I can’t wrap my head around. I chalk it up to boredom and low intelligence.
The formula seems to be: “This guy’s patronage and good will pays my salary, so I’m gonna treat him like sh*t.”

I stated no and he proceeded to go off on me for not being a member. I thanked him and told him he'd never see me there again.

When the Arizona pipe club started, we bounced around a few tobacconists, and ended up at Big Sticks fine cigars managed b Paul Buza, a tobacconist for over 40 years and a big supporter of pipe and pipe tobaccos.
He had part ownership in the shop, but not controlling interest, and his partner decided to sell to a guy that owned a couple other stores in nearby towns. We immediately saw them making changes that would be detrimental to our pipe club meetings so we did some scouting, and found a great place at RJ's that seems to work for us well.
Big Sticks kept Paul on, so we continued "pipe night" on a weekday at Big sticks...now that the transition has ran it's course the told Paul that the would keep him on, but he would be paid minimum wage! Not his first rodeo, as the same scenario happened at another store in the past.
Last night there was an event put together by friends of Paul at the store that he managed for years, it was packed like I had not seen in several years, and it is all because of who Paul is and the friendships and loyal support he created. That loyalty to most is to him and not a rebranded store, I wouldn't be surprised if this cigar lounge goes by the wayside.

I was a big supporter of the NRA with people like Charlton Heston leading the way, but under the leadership of Wayne LaPierre, they lost their way at a critical juncture. Bad policies for gun owners, caving in on issues, and a cash cow for Wane as he crookedly lived the life of a king at the expense of donors....a liar and cheat.

I didn't care that he was a supporter but don't start yelling at me because I was not. There was another shop not even a mile away that I still stop in when in the area to grab a couple cigars or a tin and the owner is always happy that I stopped. He once told me just to stop for a cup of coffee if I wanted to and I didn't need to buy anything but I always leave with something. They just opened a cigar shop in my town and I'm going to check it out in a little while. Not much going on today so why not?

I’m a life member of NRA, for a long time. But that’s all they get out of me. I also buy from MidwayUSA. I wish they would give me some choice about that round-up feature. At present it only goes to the NRA. There are other good organizations that are fighting the fight I wold rather support. Potterfield is a showboat who apparently likes the big ceremonies and notoriety when he presents LaPierre with a check for the millions raised by the round-up. None of which money is his, but he takes credit for it anyway.

Stopped at the new cigar shop in my town and it was a really nice place. They are working on the inventory but had a nice selection. I inquired about pipe tobacco and they said it was coming next week. They bought the inventory of a shop that closed up and are not sure what they are getting yet. I might have gotten a small part time gig helping them out with pipes and tobacco because no one there knows much about them so I'll see how it goes.

My Amazon membership pays a percentage to GOA. Last year it was an impressive amount.
