Something a little unusual this week. My oldest daughter lives in semi-rural northern California with her husband and children. For Christmas she sent me a small jar of her friend's home-grown tobacco. It doesn't look like any tobacco I had seen before--light in color and in loose dry flakes. I was apprehensive about how it would pack and had no idea how it would taste. But it turns out to be very good, and I've been enjoying it frequently on my commute to work and back home. The flavor is more reminiscent of Virginia than of burley. I'll ask my daughter if her friend can tell her any more about it. They grow some great smoking material in that part of the state. |

5/2020 Sutliff Balkan Sobranie 759 match in a Peterson Aran 106 chubby billiard. Had this jar tucked away the whole time. Was really tasty and smooth at first but by about half way, it turned to fair to middling.
Now for fresh Gawith Hoggarth Kendal Flake in a Mark Twain cob.
