I did not know there was a 2022 version. I will check it out. I hope the missus relents on Wolf Hall. it is such a well made series. She usually likes this kind of movie once she gets into it. Left to her own, it would be Hallmark and pimple porn. Got home yesterday early, the wife and daughter were watching “Bride Wars” chick flick movies really suck, this one is incredibly stupid. My wife admitted that she was just along for the ride, she didn’t even want to claim this one. Candace Bergen must really have run low on funds to agree to being involved.

Watched the Nick Cage movie The Unbearable Burden of Massive Talent. Strange and not my favorite movie of his, but interesting. He still has it, whatever it is.

We watched Everything, Everywhere, All at Once. It was just, really really awful. Don't do it. Just say no. And then we made the mistake of watching the first 10 minutes of Babylon. There is no excuse for either of these movies, but Babylon is criminal. Here's the best scene.

Anyone seen “Bone Tomahawk”? Strange but not too bad. I didn't enjoy it. t seemed very purposefully B-movish with little plot. It didn't justify the gore.

"Alien Conquest", 2022, with a very ill looking Tom Sizemore in a starring role.

Staring person was a young woman entirely believable as a Scientist. Mars attacks again... Man, those Bugs never learn do they? This time our heroine cleans them up with a spray bottle.

GF1 is a certifiable classic. I was never a fan of Brando, but his performance in that film is really spectacular. Everything seems to come together in it. You can never watch it without finding something new and wonderful.

GF 1 & 2 are quite good. 3 was a bit of a disappointment.

"On the Beach", once again. Just as sobering as ever! Might be Ava Gardner's best movie.
I read Nevil Shute's novel once or twice.

I rewatched 'snatch' last night with my daughter. Really well made film, and how guy Richie knits the plots together is brilliant.

Rewatched Extreme Predjuice with Nick Nolte and Powers Boothe, and Rip Torn, Torn never got his due as an actor, fine flick!

"On the Beach", once again. Just as sobering as ever! Might be Ava Gardner's best movie. I read Nevil Shute's novel once or twice. In the early 1980s, I lived in San francisco and sailed a 26 foot boat on the Bay. Lots of submarine traffic then. In and out of Alameda Naval Base and the ship yard up towards Vallejo. Mostly older subs not the big Attack boats and missle boats. Those are in and out of San Diego, I believe. Since the Russian Consulate in Pacific Heights had such a nice view of the Bay and kept a careful eye on vessel traffic, the boats would come and go with decks awash and just the "Sail" above the water. This made them harder for the Ivans to identify and report on. They could be hard to see, especially in fog, when bow on. They showed lights. A few times I heard their siren warning me to get out of their course. So, watching this movie, when the Swordfish visits San Francisco, it brought back memories.

I meant to write "...they showed NO lights."

"2036: Origin Unknown". A Sci-Fi cgi extravaganza. The ever interesting Katee Sackhoff versus AI and a global corporation messing around on Mars and then the Earth. You remember Katee, she was Walt Longmire's number one Deputy.

‘Effigy — Poison and the City’ German movie about a true story of a woman who poisoned 15 people in Bremen in 1828. The acting was stiff and the dubbing ridiculous, and it was a great movie anyway.

My recollection from years back it was kind of dumb, piling onto the Star Wars craze of the 1970s.

This was the remake. She was Starbuck. I'm almost finished watching a really bad drama called "Argentina, 1985". The subject matter is interesting and important, but the writing is god-awful.

A fine film. The only flaw was the presence of Meryl Streep, an actress I cannot abide. Watching her “work it” is almost physically painful.
